Live 10 - Collections bug

Not sure if it is the right place to post bugs, anyways. If you add a Project (the whole folder) to a given color, and have this project actually opened - it become doubled in that color entry. When you switch to another or 'new' project then the double disappears. If you open that project again - i...

Re: Does anyone know what is Live's MIDI resolution?

Just did my practical tests. So Live treats MIDI at a sample level internally(!). So, that means that, say, for 44.1 kHz project the PPQN is 22050 at 120 BPM (1/4 = 0.5 sec.), do your math for other tempos. For MIDI export(!) it is quantized to 96 PPQN (for the compatibility reasons).

Midi warping with markers, like audio

Say, you played/improvised a sketch with a midi-piano, not using metronome, but still more or less rythmical with some rubato. Now if you want to put it to the grid it will be a big pain in the ass. If it is audio - it is really very fast and simple to grab a transient-makers and align it to the bea...

Re: STILL NO COMPING?!

I wonder if it is really that important feature? I don't do tracking, say, the vocals, but I regularly do several piano takes, just use several tracks for the task, or some other workarounds, never felt I'm missing something. Again, never used it in other software so maybe it could indeed improve th...

Re: Snap to grid for the envelopes

It tremendously piss me off that it is still not here. What is the problem, just why? I see how people use the workaround - select the area > move the selected controller area/line up/down > delete 2 points that are not needed. But it looks just so stupid to me. I can't see that it is hard to implem...

Re: MP3 export please!

"but seems so unnecessary as it can be automated" - could you please share your ideas how I can do it? "If you want convenience why aren't you uploading a private clip directly to Soundcloud? You have an extremely slow connection?" - actually I always have no idea why this upload to SoundCloud funct...

MP3 export please!

It is SO inconvenient not to have it. In my work I very often need to send some music to the client for quick audition, so every time I need to do the conversion in another software. Please?!

Ingenious idea for Ableton how to sell more licenses

So, here it is. Just start from a monthly/yearly subscription, as many companies do already, BUT, once you reach the actual selling price - it's yours forever. It's a common practice for ages with a real goods, why not to use it with a software? You pay monthly, if you for whatever reasons stop payi...

Re: Why automation recording is "stepped"?

"So we have now switched positions?" Don't know, maybe D Look, how would you suggest to implement the following scenario: after some fader movement you stop it at, say, 100. Then after a minute of doing nothing you move it a bit to 99. Ok, the difference is little but would you prefer to see a 100 t...

Re: Why automation recording is "stepped"?

Ok, I see. It leaves too much space for the software to guess or more preferences-settings, which Ableton try to avoid as much as possible. Now I think that it is really the best way to use this sort of automation as it is now (plus thinning settings) and to later correct it manually (especially usi...

Re: Why automation recording is "stepped"?

I suppose Live could make a curve between fewer values, but what is recorded are discrete steps happening at different times. Even if a curve was created by the data how should it look? Actually, that's obvious coming to think of it. It should curve the automation data according to the curve of the...
