yeah that kinda works as a workaround, although i just use 2 aux outs for the surrounds
as theres nothing wrong with the LR for front...
but what we need is a quad and/or 5.1 panner...
ie the sofware equivalent of one of these:

presuming the same source & preamp etc the same argument applies to Logic, Nuendo and most other audio software - its hardly a means of comparison as to the ability of a platform to cope in a high end situation...
