Funny problem with octatrack, live, and Overbridge

I recently acquired an octatrack and I’m trying to integrate it into my studio set up which revolves around Live and hardware, including some other Elektron gear via Overbridge. I have determined that when there is an instance of Overbridge loaded into a track in Live and I send a Midi note to the o...

Re: Midi out to sound module then back to Audio in for recording

It should work fine. I did exactly what you're saying with Live 5 100s of times.

Are you sure the MIDI clip is going while you're trying to record?

While we're at it, I need some food to eat tonight, but it's not like I'm going to open a restaurant or anything and I don't want to spend a ton of money at the store. Anybody know where I can get some free groceries?

Thanks for all the replies - my chief goal is to use the mouse less. I mix ITB (obviously) and I don't use outboard effects, so plug-ins are a big factor.

Which would you recommend in light of that? (My hunch is it's the BCF.)

I'd go for the Nocturn, for the smaller form factor. It'd be easier to integrate into an existing setup for me.
I'm inclined to go for smaller, too, but considering this would my only controller . . . ?

Nocturn vs. BCF2000

Scanning through a couple threads, it seems that some people have had trouble running these two controllers together. So, if you had to pick one over the other, assuming you had no other controller, which would you go for and why? Money is not a consideration, since they're both so cheap. I'd be usi...

I guess I'll just have the tech guy I know clean it and go from there. Hopefully that does the trick!

I tried that and they all worked. Strange. Like I said, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the notes dropping out and I usually only notice it if I play a chord or a sustained note.

Juno 106 Issue

My Juno 106 has recently started to act up and I'm wondering if anybody can suggest what's wrong. If I hold a chord or even a single note, after all one or more of the voices in the chord drop out, although it's not always the sixth note. Is this the famous dead voice chip problem? Like I said, it i...

Tried that - it still didn't create a project folder.

I made one manually in Windows and it seemed to work.

Creating a Live Project Folder?

I've been getting a message when trying to save a set that I moved to another drive and then moved back to my usual tracking drive - something along the lines of "this set cannot be saved because it does not belong to a project folder. Please select the project folder in which you would like to...

You shouldn't be using any effects by default in any circumstance. I've never found that macro effects on the drum buss sound great, anyway. Sometimes a little parallel compression sounds okay (search if you don't know what that is), but I usually get the best results when I pick good samples and ge...

So, how do you all deal with recording the MD in Live? Do you record several tracks at a time (kick, snare, hat, etc.) or just make stereo loops? It seems sort of like a pain to make a bunch of individual tracks, but for mixing, I can't see how else you would do it.

Jomox T-Resonator?

I'm looking into this for processing digital and analog synths. My chief concern is that a lot of the demos online lean toward noise generation and crazy sound effects. Can anyone speak to whether this box can produce more, for lack of a better term, "musical" effects. I'm not really too i...

Okay, so now I'm more interested in the Jomox M Resonator. Can anyone speak to its basic usefulness as a filter vs. a distortion box or crazy effects generator. I'm wondering how subtle it can be.
