VSTs make everything else freeze up

When I'm running my Arturia Arp 2600V VST, and I twist knobs, or basically do anything that requires I hold the mouse down to adjust it, I notice that live will sort of freeze until I let off the mouse. The music doesn't stop, and it doesn't glitch, just VISUALLY everything stops, the VU meters stop ...

Spectrum Analyzers

Hey everyone! How's it going? This question isn't really directed towards Ableton Live, but because I use live, and cuz we're all in the same boat, i figured I'd ask.

Do you guys know of any Spectrum Analyzer software for the PC that will not only analyze whatever is being played through it at the ...

Maybe some of you laptop owners can report on the sturdyness and durability of your laptop's chassis.

Specs are specs, but not all manufacturers are the same. Pay attention to details like processor type, chipset, Level 2 cache, bus speed, ram speed, max ram size, screen size/resolution, video card ...

I gotta say that for the sake of using Live all the time, screen resolution is important to me. One of the reasons I'm really leaning towards the levonos is because on some of the models the vertical resolution is 1050, which is 26 dpi more that my 19" monitor... that would be sweet!

I was thinking ...

I really like the IBM Lenovos but the price is kinda high.

The Asus looks really good and the price is more reasonable. One of the nice features of the IBM notepads is the port replicator with the pcmcia slot in it. This would allow me to use my 8 channel sound card when at home, and use the 4 ...

Which PC notebook to buy.

I'm considering buying a new laptop, are there any manufacturers out there building PC laptops geared towards music production?

Exactly Inductive, I'd like to have it so the eq is always off, and then hitting the midi button turns it on. But I dunno if this is even possible, i'd think it would require changing the entire way live was written.

MIDI triggers

Is there any way to change the way Live responds to certain midi signals? For instance, I would like to assign one of the buttons on my midi controller to a low kill on an eq. Right now, when I press the button, it sends out a "midi on" message for as long as the button is pushed down, and then ...

Here's my question, have you downloaded the demo? :) it works pretty much the same as the retail version, except you can't save or render. So check it out yo.

IMHO the faderfox modules appear overpriced to me.

That's what I have and it rocks. It's only $99 from musicians friend, powered off the USB port, and provides another set of MIDI ports.

Although I have to admit that UC-33e ...

maybe if you get the original version of the song you can use the beat in that to sync to? Maybe once you get it right you can use the "repl" button to slip in the acapella track instead? I don't know i'm just guessing here. Maybe it would at least get you alot closer to where you wanna be, if I ...

Gotek did you click the little EXT button?

I use MIDI to sync up two computers and it works great. Just use the metronome method on both machines and you'll be swinging.

I then have my ES-1's and my buddy's ER-1 hooked to the MIDI out on my machine. I have a sample on the ES-1 of the metronome ...

I use the evolution x-session and i think it rocks, it runs off the usb power, has a nice bright display, and it's cheap too!
