Re: Trigging synths with midi

Thanks for a good reply!

What I need it to do is to act as a trigger that turns things on and off. Half of the fun is playing with ADSR while playing the chords live.

Guess thats not going to be easy to do with the Voyager. Damnit!

Re: Trigging synths with midi

Is there really no way to make this happen? In my mind it should be one of the obvious features of midi!

Even though you have something that helps you with the rythms, you should still be able to do the chords manually!

I'm obviously not the go-to-guy in the world of Midi, but some of you must be?

Re: Trigging synths with midi

I already have a midi to cv converter. Use it with my Ms-10 all the time. Maybe I could use the trigger output to trig the Juno-60. Interresting!

I also use gates and compressors to do this stuff, but on the Juno-60 I need to tweek the decay/sustain live...

Re: Trigging synths with midi

With the old Juno 60 we send an audio signal to it and the signal decides when the synth is to play a note. When no keys are down, there is no sound.

I would like to do the same thing with midi.

Trigging synths with midi

Hi. We have been using a lot of old drum machines to trig our synths, but we want to leave the fragile machines in studio while we're touring. All drum machine stuff will be done from ableton live and we still want to trig our synths. This is no problem when we are using the Juno 60, but with other ...

Re: Problems syncing Live to Pro Tools with midi

Thanks for the tip.

When I switch to midi timecode, the midi sync isn't there at all. If I switch back to midi clock the sync is there, but it's not accurate.

Do I need to make changes in Pro Tools settings as well to make it send timecode instead of clock?

Midi "banks"

When using Ableton Live in a live show you want to keep all of your tracks in the same session.

How do one go about to make midi mapping easier? Would be sweet to have one "bank" for each song. (I don't have that many faders and knobs on my Faderfox midi device.)

Problems syncing Live to Pro Tools with midi

We have recorded almost an entire album live in Pro tools. We were using two computers running Ableton Live, one as master, the other as slave. When we started recording we tried to make Pro Tools the master, but the tempe variations were just too suvire. Let's say we set Pro Tools to 120 bpm, ablet...

Re: Macbook vs Macbook Pro - how different would they feel?

I just bouth the Macbook Pro 2.66GhZ i7. No turning back for me.

I used a macbook 2,1GhZ before and the cpu went up to 60% when running 4-5 softsynths. I have no problem running sets that are 3 times larger now.

If you are looking for performance, go Pro.

Re: Freeze

As far as I know there is not a preset that does that for you. What you can do is to render the frozen file to 16bit and import it.

It's a digirack 003 with an extension module which gives me 8 more channels.. 18 channels in total. Not quite ...
