Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

I just put my money where my mouth is and bought BitWig. Shame. I wish Ableton would just get with the program. Apparently you consider yourself so important that you took the time to paste your order. Oh well... Live is a program, Push an instrument. It sounds quite logical they tune the software ...

Re: Just tried Maschine again after a few years

MAschine has lods of great sounds and the browser is fantastic. But I can't help to agree with the first post that the sequencing part is just plain awful, it's not intuitive at all unless you comme from the MPC school of things. I have been using it for a long time, so I just jam for a while (Masch...

Re: Ableton Live has become an unreliable mess.

I don't have the same problem, Live 9 has been quite stable so far; it gets definitely worse with Max For Live. The browser is definitely shitty, I 100% agree with the one column search: it doesn't work - Categories are far too general - If I'm looking for an effect why differentiate Max for live ef...

Re: High End Monitors

I work in a studio and we tried several monitors a few months ago. We settled on the Focal Twins because we thought that the bass / treble balanced was just perfect. I use Genelecs at home (home studio model) but the bass are a bit too generous, although it's very good speakers. I'm quite a fan of t...

Re: Lets Talk Tuner ... and then a lot about M4L

IT's true that M4L has added a lot of instability into the system and it doesn't really have the same simplicity as Live. Personally I expect more features dedicated to making music... live rather than production where other seq are better (protools, logic, sonar, DP...). Djs in particular have seen...

Buenos Aires ?

Hi everyone, I'm Lionel, a 40 years old producer from Paris who just moved in Buenos Aires a month ago (my woman got a job here for 7 months). I'm looking for people in Buenos Aires who are into making music to have a beer, talk gear, maybe doing a collab, going to a cool bar... I'm pretty open mind...

Re: Im a traveling man in need of help finding headphones

I tried the Audio Technica, some good stuff from Senheiser but the problem is that they're never flat. THere's a major difference picking headphone whch sound pleasing to your ears and headphones which are flat and precise. The latter kind actually help you to mix your music properly and to avoid na...

Re: Happy with Live 9?

Live 9 has been a good upgrade so far. It sounds that most stability problems are coming from PC users, it's really strage as I didn't have a single crash or problem since I installed L9 which is pretty impressive. I LOVE the audio to midi thing, I use it quite often when inspiration doesn't come an...

Re: Who is actually happy with the direction Ableton is going?

To me, It seems like they are moving away from a 'choose your workflow' style program to a 'this is how you should use Live' style program. There's some element of truth there. In that sense the browser is fairly representative of L9. It's actually more efficient than L8 old browser ( let's be hone...

Re: Who is actually happy with the direction Ableton is going?

I have been very satisfied with L9 and I think overall that Ableton is taking the right direction. Other sequencers are all about adding features on top of other features. Live is about 2 workflows : composing and playing your music live. the third workflow ( mixing ) can be done more efficiently wi...

Re: Live 9 is so broken

L9 is actually faster for me than Live 8. Didn't have a crash so far. Drum racks are the same. Maybe check your config before complaining... Agree on the browser, a bit slow and it should let user decide if they want to index or not

Re: Dump APC40 for Nocturn?

Nocturn is rubbish, the automap thing is a bit of a nightmare, will never get this back on my computer. It creates an automap version of your plugins so if you decide to change controllers or need to swap files it gets overly complicated. I agree with the previous, just go for the pus, it sounds jus...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

Push is limited to 16 pads (4x4) at once for Drum Racks. Not true at all. Push has a User Mode which will allow you to trigger 64 rack pads., we've already gone over this in this thread I thought. humnumb is a Maschine troll here with the sole purpose of denigrating Push Agree on that. We are all h...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I own both Maschine and L9 as well. While Maschine library is more extensive Live 9 new suite library is really good. In the end nobody needs 5000 kicks and 5000 snares, there's more that I need in L9 library. I use Maschine mainly as standalone as it's a great groove workstation, MPC style but a bi...
