Upgrade from Live 3 to Live 5 worth it with no midi needed?

Hi guys, I run Nuendo with Live 3.x in rewire mode on a PC Dual Opteron. I'm on the bleeding edge with regards to RAM and CPU on many of my projects (film related). Is there any real benefit from upgrading from Live 3.x to Live 5.x when I only intend to use the audio component of Live?? Or, is the L...

live 5 is less cpu efficient I think most people will tell you also, live 5 does not support dual processors Thanks John, I have to say I'm really surprised Live 5 does not support Dual Processors. Nuendo does do the time stretch and has similar algos and granular synthesis to Live... so I can just...

Is Live 5 less CPU efficient than Live 3??

Hi, I currently use Live 3 in rewire mode as a slave to Nuendo 3 on a Dual Opteron. Since I use so many VSTIs and plugins in Nuendo, CPU is an issue and I'm running right on the edge with a lot of my projects using Live 3. My question is: would Live 5 give me more of a CPU hit than Live 3 .... even ...

I think the most elegant solution would be to have little numeric tempo displays in the wave window BETWEEN each marker you create. Maybe the top of the window left-justified. A good model for this is Nuendo's or Cubase SX's Time Warp feature... when you select the time warp tool... you actually see...

Is it just me? Even though I have compassion for the victims and yes they need help but, I have this strange feeling this is a sign for those who keep ignoring Mother Earth. Is it just me? I think it's just you. "A sign for those who keep ignoring Mother Earth." If that were the case then...

never mind... I figured it out..
I t turns out that my 3 Midex 8s were listed differently in Live than in Nuendo... so I was selecting the wrong Midex for my controller input.

Assigning midi controllers to Live 3.5 with Nuendo

I have used Live for years on the Mac and Cubase VST but recently I switched to Nuendo on the PC. I still use Live slaved to Nuendo 2.2.035 but I am unable to assign midi controllers to Live.

Did I miss something?? Isn't there a way to do this??

What they meant was (for example): instead of double clicking on a track name (to rename it) you have to select the track and then use a key command to actually rename the track. Double clicking to rename things is a Mac-like convention that is consistant form one application to the next except Able...

Congratulations for a great rating in Mac World magazine

Ableton, You guys got a 4.5 out of five in the latest Mac World magazine.... mostly great things to say... the only complaints were: "no index in manual; the interface is sometimes not Mac-like." You guys rock!!! ... although I do agree with the "index in the manuel" thing. Andre...
