That is in the Live doco - if you ReWire Live as a slave all other ReWire or VSTs will be unavailable. I have a workaround to my problem, which relies on the order of doing things in Traction and Live. 1. Start Tracktion. 2. Create ReWire Filter 3. In Filter Select Ableton Live 4. Start Live This se...

Live 4.1.2 & Tracktion 2 ReWire problems

Anyone on a Windows platform got a problem with ReWire ? We are trying to get to the bottom of a malfunction with Tracktion2 as the ReWire host and Live as the ReWire Slave. All loads, Live is chronically slow, but there is no sync when the Master Play is pressed. The Master starts rolling but Live ...

Do WAV files need to be "Acidized" to get the best out of Live ? Some loops have no problems, most have this modulation and distortion effect though. No. You need to switch the warp mode from beats to texture or tones, and play around with the settings until it sounds it's smoothest. That...

Does "a loop reccorded at 65bpm and play back at the same speed" mean, that this loop is originally (i.e. from your sampling CD) recorded at 65bpm? Correct. If yes, has Live recognized the correct tempo of your sample? It has. It sometimes has problems to determine the correct tempo espec...

Help - what am I doing wrong ?

Bit of a dumb newb question, but it is really holding me back from using Live. Please help !!!! Loops I use in Live have a horrid and unwanted modulation effect (and sometimes distortion), and it becomes more pronounced the more I move away from the recording speed. These are from commercial loop CD...

Agree with above sentiments.

My experience is that the File Browser is one of the most counter-intuitive parts I have encountered getting started with Live. As far as I can tell it lacks file management capabilities, and importantly a Preview function.

Thanks 3Phase - what you say matches what I read in the manual - I guess I'm just lacking confidence at my failed first attempts. I will try again.

Mixed results - I found a setting in ReCycle which would export discrete Wav Loops individually - which helped a lot. I also managed to adjust the clips in Live in the event there was a beat missing (or too many). That's all ok. Thanks for the advice. Haven't succeeded in doing the same in Arrangeme...

1 - Personally I record my audio clips using a VST called Tapeit 2 http://www.silverspike.com/tapeit.html Even with all the recording audio features live has, this thing is still simpler quicker and gives perfect results every time. Grab any lenght loop, cut precise, trigger by locator, playback, M...

NEWB: Audio recording & loops grief

I need some help on 2 audio related matters. 1. When recording I have read the manual, but I'm not sure I get it. I seem to record a few ms over the target loop length and I just can't stretch or what ever. Should I be using some external audio editor to trim the phrase to the right length ? 2. Audi...
