Re: FFF ;-) - Is Live 8 really worse than 7 and 6?

No worse than Windows Vista when that first came out, but that stabilized. Ableton are sorting the bugs quickly - each of the bug-fix-releases are making Live 8 on my system more stable. I have been on Live *officially* since version 4 and each release initially suffered but then got sorted over time.

And for those late night "sessions": Iced venti black coffee quad shot espresso. And one more thing: If I hear one more person pronounce espresso as "expresso" their face will be cut.

Happy weekend!

Re: New CM Guide for Ableton Live 8

I have not read this one, but the past CM Guides have stunk. Music Tech Focus mags are a little better though.

Re: OMG: Metasynth 5 (universal binary+)

Why did the price go up on this? I remember version 4 being far less than $600 bucks.

Tried the demo: Get Komplete 5 instead for $399!

Re: Just tried the propellerhead Record Beta

I dig Reason, still do. Creative patching can yield creative results. But then again an hour later spent on a patch could have been handled by "X" plugin. Sigh and shrug. Stable is still its selling point for me. Record. UGH! I was a big supporter when it first came out in beta. No longer....

Re: Kontakt 3.5: anybody tried it yet?

Sampler reminds me of the samplers from the 80's - functional and creative. However, Kontakt 3.5 is like the 4th dimensional physics when it comes to sampling. The scripts function alone on Kontakt is without equal and no other sampler comes close. It opens new doors to creativity. Any info about t...

Yes, Kontakt 3.5 is excellent. Still THE best soft sampler on the market.

Re: ot: what they say about hardware synths is true

They do not necessarily "sound" better (except the MMV), but they are more immediate. In my not-so-humble but correct opinion, THE best hardware synth is the MiniMoog Voyager. Even though it is a one note wonder, it is quite an unforgettable experience playing it. LP's are nifty, but disap...

No you do not need Pro Tools if you use Ableton. Nor do you need their shitty tech support that is as useful as a scat fetish. And you definitely do not need to waste money on the ridiculously overly priced RTAS plugins. Once upon a time back in the mid to late 90's PT was cutting edge. Now they are...

Resampling did not work. I set the limiter at no more than -0.2dB and that did not work either. However, I did discover that it is the rendering of the MIDI clips which is causing this to occur. When I use Live 5.0.3 and Live 5.2b loaded only with audio clips and render to .wav I do not have this vo...
