How can i set the pitch bend for a single note from the envelope with out effecting overlapping notes of the same instrument? is there a way to know to what note i am bending to ?

I am having trouble recording using the built in mic in my old 17" PowerBook g4 because the hard disk or fan (not sure) kicks in when I record.
Does anybody have any ideas how I can reduce or eliminate this noise?
