I never got them to sync quite right... the sound was always very choppy on the slave. The only software that seemed to sync well was Live as the master and Reaktor as the slave... no other software that I tried synced to Live very well.

I actually tried method 1 with my friend last night and it didn't work too well... it seemed that the slave laptop was having trouble recieving the tempo info. The latency was a bit crazy too. We could cut the latency down quite a bit by adjust the rate, but then the sound was terible.

Midi Syncing 2 Laptops

I have a PowerBook G3 running Live, and am looking into getting a Dell Inspiron 8200 to run AudioMulch and some other aps. Just wondering what's the most efficient way to sync the Dell to the PB. I've tried a couple of experiments, but I've only been succesful by using 2 interfaces and a cable ...

Sorry I'm posting this again now that I've logged in

I would love to have a sequencer within a loop. So I could, say, take a drum loop, and clip it down to just the kick (which I can do currently in Live), but then I could use a step sequencer to pattern the kick... following?
