I've browsed around the net and see that there may be a way to do this and with Leopard at around $100 Im curious.

If MAC is the Messiah I always hear about for A/V applications I want to try it out. Now granted Im sure it wont be the same as a REAL MAC box but I want to see if there are any ...

Have you solved (or heard of anyone that has) the midifeedback-problem in getting midi parameters back into the BCF (and motorized faders... :) )

I 'm eager to by a BCF myself, but hesitating because of this...

What software/update for BCF did you use to make the BCF-faders give midi into ...

I get 98% using Live 5.0.3 - live 5.0.1 was used in the test above.

Thanks for all the tips, I will go through them and see what help.

Christian from Ableton also gave me a very important tip. stop using 5.0.1! haha 5.0.3 has about 40% better cpu performance for me. - no kidding.




@angstrom - you can stuff your veiled warez accusation where the sun don't shine ...

I've been using it since release and it's great for DJing - brilliant.

but for song production it's just not good enough it won't handle more than 4 tracks of audio at a time -with effects etc.

I just did the performance test - my results 138 - 150 % CPU use. brilliant.

Hang on... has the "fighting faders" issue with the BCF been fixed? I already have a BCR but the only thing stopping me getting a BCF was this one problem.


you only have the fighting faders problem when you set the midi preferences to send midi data to the bcf. It's not necessary unless you like ...

i find it strange to come up with "audiofile snobbish" remarks and at the same time advice to re-compress an already mastered and probably compressed original....you will degrade dynamics and fidelity, all for the sake of some kind of automatic volume-control which will only make a mix sound ...

I only run a Juno and a machinedrum from Live and I've not really had any problems with it - well not once I'd set up the midi delay compensation.

Midi generally gets a bit flakey when you add more and more modules to the chain, I'd be curious to read other people's experience with this as well ...

Personally, I use PSP Vintage Warmer on the master output in Live... for some light compression.

For a VST, the vintage warmer has a lovely sound and is ace on vocals and guitars.

I feel it colours the sound too much to be used as effect on the main outs. I've actually started using the TC ...

We're just trying to help - Personally I don't see the benefit of putting a compressor over the top of my Live DJ mix (especially if I'm mixing digital records)
