"No Shizzle my Nizzle." ?
I like, but I'm not sure what it means.
But I like.

For those of us with little or no interest in video sync or surround, live 2.0 is looking like an interesting alternative to other multi-tracks.

Perhaps "horn" was the wrong word to use. The question remains though: if shopping for Nuendo, DP3, etc... and Live 2.0 comes out (and has a much more intuitive interface to my way of thinking), is it, in its new incarnation, suitable for such use (to record live instruments, mix them and make ...

Will Live 2.0 Replace Nuendo, PTLE, DP3, etc...?

Seems as though Ableton is trying to horn its way into the studio audio market. Do we think that Live 2.0 will be an honest-to-goodness alternative to other audio programs for people who want to record live instruments? This could be really cool even for people who have limited use for looping ...

[b]no, theres no good reason...
live can record audio input in 24bit ...
if u dont use timestretching , the recorded audio plays back
in the same quality as cubase or whatever would....

i use it for that, cause quantized recording is really great
and intuitive if youre a one man band holding a ...

Sorry about that -- it was me (I neglected to log in). I still fear I'll have to go DP3, Cubase SX etc ... to record audio before I can get into Live.
I wasn to record at least 16 tracks of audio (drums, guitar, bass, horns) in 24-bit.

But do you use it for midi/synth stuff only or for the recording of live instruments, voices, etc ... ?

I guess I'm just still a little unclear as to the wisdom of using solely Live to record acoustic instruments. Is there a good reason NOT to?

First of all -- I don't really know. The problem is that Live isn't really made for studio multitracking, unlike programs like ProTools, DP3, Nuendo, etc ... so those programs will likely accomodate the tracking of drums, guitars, horns, etc ... more naturally & with better sound. As much as I like ...

What? No robotic arms? What a rip-off!!!
I do almost all audio recording & would love
to see a good audio multi-tracking program
that was a fluid as Live -- just go thru a MOTU
or RME interface & record all instruments
right into Live & go. Probably not a wise idea,
but very tempting on some level ...

Has anyone used Ableton Live as a replacement for multi-track recording software -- DP3, PT, Cubase . . . ???????? I love the interface.
