I think it doesn't really matter, you can always use the warp markers to put things back into place as a dj.

I have wanted to do this as well but just presumed it couldn't be mapped.
I don't see why the guys at Ableton don't just let you assign midi to more or less any parameter, maybe they just want to leave their options open for improvements on future versions!!

Not sure if this is what vincentlepes meant, but 4:4 does not actually mean 4 bars at all. Just to clarify, 4:4 timing means there are 4 beats in every bar (the first number) and the beat is a quarter note/crotchet (2nd number).

the delay seems to be some what random. I just set up a midi clip to play a note on the first and third note of every bar then measured the delay for each note. Didn't matter what BPM I played it at - the delay was ranging from about 25 to 35 ms.
It makes no sense as my input latency is currently 6 ...
