Re: Best WAV>MP3 Conversion?

God help the future of music if people actually intend to make music that is of an inferior quality because they genuinely think they prefer the sound.
What a load of shite.
Really annoys me when I hear a track that is so obviously encoded around the 128kbps rate, it just says to me that the ...

Re: SWing ur kick

I think it doesn't really matter, you can always use the warp markers to put things back into place as a dj.

The fact you even think like this is a little worrying - I would imagine the majority of djing is still done manually using real turntables/cd decks etc. so a production should never be ...

Re: Controlling Sampler's "Loop Start" and "Loop End" via MIDI

Excellent!
I have wanted to do this as well but just presumed it couldn't be mapped.
I don't see why the guys at Ableton don't just let you assign midi to more or less any parameter, maybe they just want to leave their options open for improvements on future versions!!
But likewise I'm happy for now ...

Re: Doing beats in session view (please critique my setup)

Not sure if this is what vincentlepes meant, but 4:4 does not actually mean 4 bars at all. Just to clarify, 4:4 timing means there are 4 beats in every bar (the first number) and the beat is a quarter note/crotchet (2nd number).
I don't know a lot of music theory but I do think it's important to ...

ok I now have the synth going into one channel on my mixer (Denon DNX1500) and ableton coming in another channel and the synth is perfectly matched to ableton. (Well as far as I can tell anyway!)
So that narrows it down to an audio delay.

Ok and what's even more annoying is the delay varies from ...

the delay seems to be some what random. I just set up a midi clip to play a note on the first and third note of every bar then measured the delay for each note. Didn't matter what BPM I played it at - the delay was ranging from about 25 to 35 ms.
It makes no sense as my input latency is currently 6 ...

Syncing live with hard synth

Hey, this is my first post but have found so much useful posts on this forum already. I never felt the need to post until now!

First off my setup, Ableton 7 running on intel centrino 1.7GHz or there abouts (Im not on my pc now), and 1GB RAM, most importantly, my audio is going through my Native ...
