Re: Can Ableton do this? - Chop sample, fade out
Hey, I saw this against the clock with Rival Console yesterday, and saw a very creative way to get texture into songs. Basically he imports a field-recording or something similar, chops it up, selects all the different chops, and selects "Fade out" in Cubase. All the different parts of th...

Re: Vocoder: is it possible to use a plugin as a carrier?
Yes, of course it is possible. And setting it up is no different than using an ableton synth. Just select the channel it's on in the Vocoder's "ext" input drop down. If you need specific help as to why your third party instrument isn't "working" with vocoder, you'll have to be mo...

Re: Live 9.7-another update for Simpler, but what about Sampler?
I definitely feel Angstrom's pain on this. All the changes / new functionality are done solely with Push in mind. Looking at the Release notes just prove the point painfully. All the work on the software is just about Push compatibility and development. I don't own push, I don't want push, I couldn'...

Re: Label wants me to pay for mastering, etc.
Seems like a crap deal to me.... if they aren't paying for mastering nor promotion, what the hell are they actually doing for you?
I'd steer clear, personally.

To anybody who might care / have the same issue, updating the MBP to El Capitan has (so far) resolved this issue.

Re: Stoping a clip from launching ??
I agree with the notion that your attempt to 'simplify' is actually making things more complex and problematic than they need to be (especially considering that in order to achieve it you need new functionality entirely). Here's my question: You have a scene, call it your 'primary main basic scene' ...

Freezing issue: MacBookPro + USB gear.. thoughts?
Any folks here using Mac Book Pro and USB gear for live shows? Or just with a USB hub at home? If so, maybe you can help me with this problem (it's not really Ableton specific, but I'm hoping some folks here will run with a similar setup) -- Having issues with MBP freezes in very specific USB-relate...

Re: Soft Modular Synths
Softube. Yikes. Looks frighteningly hard to learn. Makes Bazille look like Operator. Let's review: you start a thread -specifically- asking about modular soft synths... but are now too scared to try a software emulation of the most popular modular system that currently exists on the planet? (Eurora...

I still CONSTANTLY drag a single node thinking that node alone will move and go GAAAH, THEY GOT ME AGAIN!! and have to hit Undo, then deselect the region, then move that node.
My brain has just never adapted. It still pisses me off.
Oh well.

Re: Turning on "Warp" without actually warping audio file...how?
It seems like there should be a way to convince Live, so to speak, that a given audio clip's normal, unaltered playback state is wanted even with "Warp" still on. The BPM box is of no use in the case of non-loop / non-musical passages, and I'm specifically working with recorded samples of...

Re: Turning on "Warp" without actually warping audio file...how?
Yes, but when a person first installs Live, and if they've never used the program before, their first experiences with warp will be using Beats, Transient mode as the default. They won't know any better until the day that they learn about that part of the software. And in a lot of cases, beats tran...

Re: Turning on "Warp" without actually warping audio file...how?
Actually what you already do doesn't change the audio clip's tempo if warp is turned on and only the start point warp marker of the file is displayed. If you change the global tempo, of course your clip's tempo will also change relatively. But as long as your global tempo doesn't change, dropping a...

Turning on "Warp" without actually warping audio file...how?
This is really bugging me, and has been for a while. Very specific scenario with audio files, wherein I want "WARP" to = ON so I get the Loop functionality, but I DON'T want the clip to actually get warped to session tempo. Probably best to explain in specific actions performed: Let's say ...
