Re: How To Tell A Good Take/Recording
also like clayton mentioned.....listen. You should be training your ears to hear these things or else you will always have those problems. A good source to check out if you cant take Critical Listening classes, is this: http://www.moultonlabs.com/full/product01/ It is a great product and if you're s...

Re: How To Tell A Good Take/Recording
Tracking something correctly will make mixing a lot easier. Get it right before you commit to tape. (or hard drive) I use very little compression when tracking. I use little to no eq when tracking. EQ problems can be fixed by proper mic placement. Also, if it doesn't sound good in the room then chan...

Re: FS: Ableton 7 and 8 Suite
You have a spare 15k to invest (if you don't get PTHD3, at least 1 (minimum) 96 I/O and preferably a 192 I/O and a Mac Pro tower unit (at least a quad core Xeon), it's really not worth going PTHD, HD2 might do you if you don't need to run lots of plugins, but the infamous run out of voices is very ...

Re: Is there a best way(method) to export all tracks at once?
Stupid question; what do you mean by "all have the same start times"? I think I know what you mean but I'm not sure. Before export all, do you freeze each track or bounce to audio tracks? Should each track of bounced audio be of the entire song, regardless of how long that tracks performa...

Re: WTB - Ableton Session Drums
this is from the support faq: Am I allowed to transfer a license for an individual component in Ableton Suite to another user? No. You may transfer your entire Ableton Suite license to another user, but not licenses for single instruments or libraries within Ableton Suite. If you already owned licen...

Re: WTB - Ableton Session Drums
I was thinking about selling off individual instruments off my "suite" version to strip it down to the normal, but if you look at the support page it says that you cannot sell a single license, only the whole. So to answer your question, I don't think it is possible to buy second hand able...

Re: FS: Ableton 7 and 8 Suite
Pro Tools HD. I absolutely love Ableton. The workflow is better than anything. Pro Tools is a little slower in that regard but it offers so much more than Ableton can for me. I do not record electronica, techno, etc... I mostly do Rock, Metal, Blues, some country and hip-hop, so alot of Ableton's e...

Re: preamp connected to another preamp? am I stupid?
Not sure about those interfaces but you should find out if you can bypass the pre-amp in them. Hooking up your focusrite pre to another pre would most likely be crap unless you can bypass the one that has your AD converters built in. I know in the M-Audio Profire 2626 this can be done so you can con...
