Re: ECHO Indigo DJx - reviews?

I don't think so. Stable and trustworthy accurately describe my experience with the thing. Consider, though, that if you leave the card plugged into your laptop all the time, it's going to get banged around a bit because it protrudes from the side. After 6 years of this combined with literally thous...

Re: ECHO Indigo DJx - reviews?

I agree with that evaluation. I use the PCMCIA version in an older laptop, and it sounds as good as any of the larger Echo sound cards I've used in other computers. Echo drivers are good as well, easy to install and latency is not an issue. As janiq said, the external plastic housing is a bit fragil...

Re: NI classic comps

i really don't see the problem with having the NI effects hosted in guitar rig. it's basically just like Live's effects racks. just a device to host effects or chains of effects. The problem with this method is that you are locked into a proprietary hosting system that is dependent upon NI maintain...

Re: Dance producers: Are you tuning your kick drums?

Not to make light of your query, but I always find these questions a bit strange. Am I tuning kicks, am I tuning snares, etc. It's sort of like asking, FX - wet, dry or somewhere in-between? To answer your question, I tune my kicks and every other drum sound until they all work together. If the kick...

Re: Native Instruments discontinues Kore

I hope you're right, glitchrock. At this point the user base has to be large enough to justify keeping it alive in terms of support for a few years. The hardware is fairly robust which will also make it hard for me to give up on the platform. Not to mention the work I've put into the software and so...

Re: Native Instruments discontinues Kore

Gotta say, don't really understand the dislike of the Kore hardware. It could be a bit more compact, but it is a well-made device and does what it was designed to do quite well. While it doesn't have pads or many knobs or faders, it is a perfectly useful front end to the Kore application. I was a la...

Yeah, good stuff. I caught most of this and the Luke Hess set afterward. Going to tune in earlier on Sunday.

Re: Just got my new laptop, want to recommend to all pc users

Didn't Lenovo have been recently bought by a Chinese company? :? Lenovo is a Chinese company. They were the manufacturer of ThinkPads when they were still sold by IBM. Several years ago IBM got out of the PC business and sold the brand to Lenovo. They're definitely well made. I've been using a not ...
