Re: Looking for real TR-808 loops, not one-shots

No idea what your woes may be, but I'm not convinced that loops programmed by other people on a simple 16 step sequencer are the best answer to anyone's musical problems. I assume you're after the swing of a vintage Roland machine, such as it is, but it's not all that difficult to get a similar resu...

No one has ever done this. You will be the first.

Re: How the fuck can he/they be louder than me !

Well you have to ask yourself if louder is a good thing. well, if you master your tracks with a pleasing amount of dynamics, AND IT PLAYS ON THE RADIO, then you'll sound like a whisper between 2 jumbo jets. So really, like it or not, you have to overcompress. And music that isn't played on the radi...

Re: Kore 2 - things to know before purchase

The current version of the Kore software uses the engine from Kontakt 4. In any case, all the details about Komplete are easy to find at the NI website.

Re: Kore 2 - things to know before purchase

There is some overlap with the individual products included in Komplete, but there was enough unique material that it didn't bother me. Although, I went from Kore to Komplete, so it felt like a big expansion to me. It sounds like you're going the other way, so you might look more closely at a detail...

Re: Kore 2 - things to know before purchase

To answer a couple of your questions: You can use Kore as a generic MIDI controller for any software including Live, and you can program it to control parameters of whatever plug-in you load into the native Kore software environment. Be aware though that these are two different modes that will requi...

Re: Get maschine if I already have kontakt, battery?

I certainly would not have bought Maschine for the slicing alone. Ableton takes care of most of my slicing needs, even if Simpler is limited. I do usually trigger those slices with Maschine in MIDI controller mode, though. While the integration between the Maschine controller and the software is nic...

Re: How to set up a basic mixing board

Live will do exactly what you're wanting to achieve, you just need to spend about 5 minutes with the manual. I'm not exaggerating you are a 5 minute (or less) read away from having session view set up to handle the mixing scheme you want. I'll give you this much - if you want more of a mixer view an...

Re: Recommend me.....a Studio Chair !

Totatlly, the base and supports are heavy gauge steel. I could sit here and bang it with a hammer all day and do no damage. The plastic and mesh parts (back, seat, armrests) are the replaceable bits.

Re: Recommend me.....a Studio Chair !

I have an Aeron as well. Unlike many folks, I'm not all that keen on the look of the thing, but it's hard to beat on the durability and adjustability fronts. The thing that always gets talked about with these is the price, and with good reason. However, one thing I never hear mentioned is the 12 yea...

Re: fs : Reaktor5, Absynth4, Pro53,Ultra-analog

The software retails for $399. He's selling a secondhand license at a discount of more than half. You can't compare his asking price to what NI sold it for briefly during that sale. Even if someone happened to buy it at the lower price and wanted to sell it for more, who gives a shit? Welcome to life.

Re: max for live vs reaktor

The obvious answer is that using Max enables you to integrate a patch tightly within Ableton's interface and workflow, while Reaktor is subject to the limitations imposed by its status as a plug in.
