Re: Working on multiple projects at a time vs. just one?
That's what I like about Foobar2k. It allows you to customize the interface at a low level so you can set things how you want. Looks handy for DJ'ing, but overkill for what I need when tracking the status of my own projects. Anyway, I too hope that the updated Live browser has some things I can use...

Re: Working on multiple projects at a time vs. just one?
Some great ideas in this thread. I have hundreds of projects that are unfinished at any given time. One thing I started doing a couple of years ago to help me contend with project bloat on my hard drive is to keep a spreadsheet with columns for BPM, File Name, Track Name, Instruments Used, Project, ...

Re: FX Pedal "dub style" for instrumentalists?
Along the same lines is the Boss Space Echo pedal. Bit pricier than the Line 6, though. http://www.bossus.com/gear/productdetails.php?ProductId=896&ParentId=260 Another step up the price scale is the Eventide Timefactor delay, which I love because it has MIDI sync, a looper, stereo in/out, and a...

Re: I need HEAVY dubstep tracks for my fight movie
Shazam is the most important thing you can think of to mention in this thread? I'd argue that the most important issue here is that someone is asking a bunch of strangers on a public message board to contribute their work in exchange maybe for some credit in what might be a film one day when or if i...

Re: live 9 - sampler changes?
Live 1 had it in clips. It was the basis of Live. Impulse drum machine had it right away. Yet it didn't make it into their top of the line sampler. Makes no sense. Or maybe it makes perfect sense. If we can timestretch with audio clips, why bother to build it into the sampler as well? Like you said...

Re: live 9 - sampler changes?
fucking madness and they sell it like it's the dogs bollocks operator and simpler are probably the best I don't think it should be sold as an add-on, it should just be bundled with the program at this point, but it isn't exactly useless, is it? The automation alone is reason enough for me to use it...

Re: Seems like the last 3 years were mainly the 64 bit re-write
I guess I'm just used to always not getting things I wanted and also getting some things I didn't know I wanted. I haven't looked back at the release notes for previous Live versions, but the amount of new features/improvements isn't wildly different from past updates. I seem to remember others in t...

Re: Seems like the last 3 years were mainly the 64 bit re-write
Sure, 64 bit is important. Moreover, it was inevitable. But the lack of it did not stop anyone from working. People who really needed 64 bit before Ableton got around to it were using the platforms that offered it. Simple. Meanwhile, I don't recall seeing many people running Cubase onstage. You stil...

Re: Seems like the last 3 years were mainly the 64 bit re-write
No, he didn't nail it. What do you think is missing, exactly? How should the developers have spent their time if not adding numerous and, in some cases, long-requested workflow, effect, and file management improvements to the software, while also designing a ridiculous hardware controller? Not to me...

Nice. Also, don't forget in Maschine to set Sounds to MIDI Notes in the bank Sound MIDI Batch Setup, if it hasn't been already.

Re: Creative Block.
I have a 5 minute a day theory. if you do something for 5 minutes a day. no matter what, you have to do it for at least 5 minutes. you will be a bad ass in 6 months to a year. I agree with the spirit of your theory, but the math doesn't amount to much. At that rate, you'd only spend 30 hours a year...

Re: MASCHINE VS. MPD32....im leaning AKAI
With NI stuff there is no such thing. You use the little magnifying glass button below the arrange window or waveform or wherever. That would be fine, but keeping what you are zooming in on or out of centered is hard, so you constantly have to scroll right and left to maintain focus. I might not not...
