Re: Warping video tutorial for Ableton 8
Thank you! I just bought Live 8 this morning and was a little pissed about the new way of warping in relation to doing full tracks. I'm sure I will learn to love this way eventually, but this video definitely helped! Cheers.

I almost exclusively use 're-pitch.' I feel that the beats mode, while great for smaller loops, makes whole tracks a bit muddy if you stray more than 3 or 4 bpm from the native tempo. The 'complex' option in Live 5 takes away some of that muddiness, but vocals still sound a little different than the...

Is this new Rain laptop anygood?
There was a laptop featured in the new Remix mag that sparked my interest. I am a PC person, but I was seriously considering purchasing a powerbook until I saw these babies. Does anybody on here own one or know somebody that owns one. They sound kick-ass.

I have the Echo Indigo DJ for my work laptop because I don't have a firewire port and I absolutely love it, however; If you do have a firewire port (they also make PCI firewire ports to add on to your computer in case you don't have one) I recommend getting the M-Audio Firewire Audiophile....it rock...

You can find many of your answers by doing a forum search, but to answer it in one sentence: Ableton is the DJ platform of the future. 1. Get a Midi controller. I don't use a crossfader when I DJ so the Evolution UC-33 controller worked best for me. It has 8 volume sliders (comparable to an 8 channe...

Can't set range for song tempo
I've been trying to set the song tempo range from 115 to 140 so my controller would be more precise as I increased my tempo during a set, but it always stays in the range of 60 to 200. Does anybody else have this problem?

I looked in the log.txt and it says quicktime first and then directshow second. How can I be sure that the quicktime decoder is being used? _______________________...

I am able to control everything!!!!
I just wanted to express my love for Live 5 because now I can use ALL of my midi controllers at one time (uc-33, x-session, oxygen 8, etc), change the cc #s so that there are no conflictions and control EVERYTHING in LIVE at the touch of a button.....I am so freakin happy right now!
