Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

The issue brought up by the OP sounds super frustrating. I haven't been able to reproduce it myself though. I have had some gripes about general playability/velocity control, but no issues with sudden spikes. I really, really, like the 9.7 update - Seems like general playability has been improved s...

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

I returned my Push 2 with a view to picking one up again once this bug was fixed. The fact that it hasn't been fixed yet could mean that it is a fault with the physical hardware itself or just that Ableton have limited developer resources and a backlog of stuff to code. I assume most people are work...

>>What software are you using for the MIDI monitor?

I can't check right now but it was a free VST which I downloaded for the purposes of the demonstration. (i usually monitor using my Midipal).

EDIT: It was this one - http://www.kvraudio.com/product/midimon ... t-piz-here

Re: Push 2 and Windows 7

On my machine, Push 2 will not install correctly unless you attach Push 2 to its power supply before you attach it to the computer. I'm on Win7,64bit. This sounds like my method. With Live running, Push2 off and assuming Push control surface is present in Live prefs: 1)Ensure USB is unplugged. 2)Tu...

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

Just had an update from Support. The Push 2 devs have confirmed it is a bug and that it affects all units. They have promised to address it in a future update, although it may not make the upcoming 9.5.1. That's good news. If you are experiencing this problem, your Push 2 doesn't have a hardware def...

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

Yeah, the playability of the pads is the main reason I got a Push. I don't do much with samples and I could live without the fancy graphics. I'm tempted to send it back and get a second-hand Push1 while the prices are so low. I keep hearing how the Push1 pads are fine so long as you are not too both...

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

I just received a response from Support. They were able to reproduce the issue. They are not sure whether it is a bug or expected behaviour but the developers are going to take a look at it. If it is expected behaviour, I am hopeful that a future update will give us more control over the Pad Setting...

Re: Push 2: Is it possible to copy and paste notes?

No. But coming from the Elektron sequencers, it's my most wanted feature. Duplicate + pad should copy the Note and Automation settings (if any) for that step. Then pressing another, empty pad would paste it to that pad. Add it to the feature requests. (Where do we submit feature requests for Push2 b...

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

It is nothing to do with Pad Settings, as we have said in this thread, the other threads, the video and the support tickets.

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

Here's the video I'm sending to Support to illustrate the problem with unwanted Max Pad Velocity: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QskR9t2mtw If everyone's Push 2 behaves like this I will try to work around it until it may be fixed by a firmware update. (eg using a Chain to ignore any velocity over,...

Re: Velocity on Push 2: Bug???

Yes, I reported it yesterday. Support response was to ask if I had Accent engaged. Obviously, this is not the cause of the issue but I imagine they get a lot of support tickets that are down to basic user-error. I plan to make a video later to show them what is happening. Just to reiterate here: if ...

Re: step sequencer note length

Hello, To define note length with the step sequencer in Push 2 can you press the start pad for the start position and the end pad for the end position or do you have to press the start button and turn the note length knob again? Sorry I was supposed to post this under Push Q&A, please feel free to ...

Re: Push 2 Pads and First Impressions

My pads are fine now - they just needed a fair bit of breaking in. (Aside from the strange aftertouch/volume issue detailed above - which is probably the same on everyone's Push2). The non-pad buttons are easy to press but have a slightly unusual feel. They seem to be thin rubber over a mechanical i...

Re: Push 2 Pads and First Impressions

I am definitely having the same inconsistent pad issues - with regards to velocity. It's really noticeable when playing say a piano gently. When I play a few chords gently, one note at a time - kind of rolling the notes - all of a sudden one note will jump out really loud. Is this the same issue yo...
