Re: Portland, OR user's group?

Howdy folks, I'm the culprit in question for organizing the meetup. I'm trying to find a good venue to hold it in. I just got a large studio space so that might work as well. Ideas for a location?

LAZER HARP! Need suggestions for midi routing and mapping

Howdy fellow abletonites! I'm hoping to draw from your vast knowledge and experience. Heres my challenge. I have a custom built lazer harp, that for all intents and purposes, is a blingin' 47 key midi controller without velocity. My partner and I have been working on sets to use in a social setting ...

Any way to get each layer from looper?

Hey all! I've got my foot controller hooked up with the looper. Whats the best way to either set up a multi track looping situation, or export all the layers from the looper when you drag and drop?

Thanks!

Sending midi note off messages in live, NOT note on vel 0?

Hey All, Here's my issue. I have an SCI Prophet 600, one of the original midi enabled synths. The problem is this synth is without velocity, so when ableton sends a midi note on vel 0 signal to signify the end of a note, it triggers the synth again. How can I get Ableton or a third party plug to sen...

Re: Help me to have this groove using an arpeggiator

Why not record the midi output after your arp to another midi track and then apply your desired groove?

Re: Anyone care to share any Grain Delay Tricks?

I often use the grain delay as a psycho acoustic stereo spread for just about anything. Turn sync mode off, and set the delay time to something under 35ms. Now set the spray to a low value, as well as the frequency parameter. Last but not least, set the random pitch to a low value. Adjust the feedba...

Re: usb or firewire for external soundcard

I can't recommend RME enough. I have all RME conversion in my studio, and it's never failed me. On big advantage RME has, is they actually write their own drivers for 1394a, while all other companies use generic 3rd party drivers customized for their interfaces. When I originally purchased my FF800 ...

Re: Midi CC in arrangement view

The only way to automate or record CCs is in clip view. I automate CCs regularly for my outboard synths, and haven't found a need to automate them from arrangement. How does clip CC automation not achieve your goal?

Re: MSTRKRFT - How to get this overdriven gritty bass sound...

Sounds like the analog love child of a mono synth and distortion pedal and/or micing an overdriven amp. Don't have the analog toys to play with the big boys? Try a simpler/sampler loaded with an analog wave cycle or the analog abe instrument through the dynamic tube, saturator, and the multiband dyn...

Re: Using a mackie protocol controller as a sequencer..

@Ruso I know it wouldn't be an analog sequencer, but it would be very close to the same user interface as an analog style sequencer, which is what I'm after. Being able to use your hands to sequence would just be so much fun. I've drooled over the Octopus many times, but considering its prohibitive ...
