This is getting weird.

I have repaired many generations of apple laptops experiencing this kind of trauma... the lowest risk solution is to have a qualified technician open the laptop and gain direct access to the jack. Typically a pin can be inserted in the opposite side of the 1/8" jack to eject the remaining debri...

Thats a really good one, though I am not sure the boat is real... might just appear to be there through suggestion.

Racks can be useful for DAW recording. Not a bad way to create separate mixes for myself (ie. compressed, dry, in the mix) and the talent (ie. less-compressed, a little verb, loud) when dealing with vocal or instrument punch ins.
