You know, it's not a virtue that PCs are harder to set up and add devices to. It's poor design. Who wants to deal with that?

I think it's also important not to get hung up on a temporary performance delta, rather than overall commitment to innovation. 2 or 3 years ago those Macs you bought were very competitive performance-wise, and they will be again soon with the 970. Once we're rid of Motorola, ah, how nice it will be....

Hi ... very little bug here, but...

I've set up a template file with key commands set for various tools. They all stick except for the metronome "m" key, which I have to reset each time. Is this by design or is this a bug?

This is all pretty good advice, I think, even though I'm a life-long Mac-head. Apple laptops have a lot of advantages in power consumption, though, so a lot of the PC laptops' advantages evaporate when on battery power and they go through power cycling. Actually Digital Performer has this kind of thing, only it's done a little more elegantly than adding a track for every pass, and it's something that could be added to Live IMHO. DP has a thing called Polar that does multiple recording passes to RAM ... and/or you can have multiple "takes"...

On OS X 10.2.2 I saw cpu usage on the same songs drop a small but significant amount, around 10%...
