And it's got version control! It saves the changes you make so you can roll back to previous versions.

Re: Dropbox: Syncing between two machines?
Use SpiderOak! I discovered it the other day and it's and absolutely brilliant for syncing, backup and sharing. It 's similar to Dropbox (and also free) although it's got a much more configurable client. Choose folders to sync and away it goes. I use it to keep my work and home machines in sync and ...

Re: First track after a long hiatus (techno/prog)
Cheers Tarekith! I've always wrestled with making good basslines and this track was no different. I wanted a big, subby bassline but I do agree with you in that it sounds a bit 'flabby'. Do you have any tips or suggestions that might help tighten up this bass in particular (or in general for that ma...

Cheers gjm
Yeah I usually get a bit stuck around the 6min mark and start to lose interest, but this one was at 10 mins before I knew it! Here's hoping it wasn't a fluke and I don't have to take another 5 month break before I can do it again hehe.

First track after a long hiatus (techno/prog)
After many, many months of neglecting my studio I finally got my arse into gear and made this over the course of one weekend. It's definitely re-invigorated my love for production :) http://soundcloud.com/esotera/a-point-to-make-v3 Would really appreciate any comments or feedback! And if you have an...

Re: Help me defeat my arch nemesis! (house/tech sub basslines)
Thank you for the responses. Some good ideas. Here are some that I came up with while trying to answer my own questions: - Much of the time, a lot of the bass will actually be part of the kick drum's release, with a bassline of similar tone and frequency 'filling in the gaps'. - Very tight sidechain...

Help me defeat my arch nemesis! (house/tech sub basslines)
I am not a noob producer by any means but I have always struggled with certain types of bassline. This one frustrates me the most. Some great examples of what I mean are in this Stacey Pullen set: http://soundcloud.com/r_co/stacey-pullen-default-xt3 at 31m15s and 24m45 and 1h20m To me they sound lik...

MacbookPro Core 2 Duo - How many NI plugs can YOU run?
I just bought Komplete 7 for use with Ableton but I'm pretty disappointed with the the number of concurrent NI plugs I can use. 4+ instances of Massive / Guitar Rig / Kontakt etc. introduces crackling and sluggish performance, even though CPU meter only reads 70% or so. Never had issues with CPU bef...

There is a great Chariots of Fire 'horn' preset that comes with Sylenth1! I think it might be called Vangelis actually.

What's the difference between Kore and Instrument Racks?
Is it just the sound banks and preset organisation? I'm intrigued because DV247 are doing Komplete 7 + Kore 2 for £499 (Kore 2 for £100 basically). But I don't really understand what you can do with Kore that you can't do natively in Live anyway using instrument racks & chains. Is it worth buyin...
