Re: East West Symphonic Orchestra, Live 8, 32-bit/64-bit issues
Which version of Live 8 have you tried it with ? I've got it going with 8.1.4. I'm wary of saying that it's 100% stable since I've only used it for an hour or so, but so far it's been fine. Otherwise, it implies it's an issue with Vista. Have you sent Ableton the crash reports ?

Re: East West Symphonic Orchestra, Live 8, 32-bit/64-bit issues
The error message when installing that older update is "The 32-bit version DIFxAPI does not work on Win64 systems. A 64-bit version of DIFxAPI is required. occurred in ./copyinf.cpp at line number:397 Other error:-5326870347 Internal Operation:200" But...it now appears to be working! Live ...

Re: East West Symphonic Orchestra, Live 8, 32-bit/64-bit issues
I'd guess you are trying to install the latest version 2.0.21 of Play? I tried updating my Play today to this version on 64-bit Vista, and surprisingly the 32-bit update package did not want to install because of 64-bit OS. This is a bit odd, as the previous updates installed fine. I suppose many u...

Re: Additional lisences for ableton
How could Ableton tell if you're using more than one at a time ? I don't think there's anyway they can, provided you don't go online with both of them... But anyway, from http://www.ableton.com/pages/faq/license#faq_1_link : "You can install Live on two of your own computers (Mac, PC or both) i...

East West Symphonic Orchestra, Live 8, 32-bit/64-bit issues
So, I finally have Live 8 working with Windows 7. Then I bought East West Symphonic Orchestra. The 32-bit version won't install on Windows 7. Live 8 won't recognise the 64-bit version plugin. I'm stupid because I didn't check the compatibility chart on the East West website. Any suggestions ? I'm cu...

Re: Buying Core i7 macbook.
Wrong. Sorry! Give me a link if it's really true! That's the turbo boost speed as far as google told me, and it's only 1.6GHz per core if using it multicore (which you would using ableton). I'd like to be wrong, but as said above, there is no such quad-core notebook processor running at that speed....

Re: Are you rocking a mac or a pc?
Macs being overpriced is a complete myth. Compare the hardware, build quality, and you will find that they are actually very good value for money. Not to mention OSX is cheap to buy and it has great integration with the computer hardware inside. Well the integration thing may be true. But great har...

Live Instruments are out of tune ??
Is it just me, or do quite a few of the instruments in Live have out of tune notes ? I seem to have noticed it most with the bass instruments, e.g Tension's Double Bass , though that might just be because I've been using them more often. I know you can change things like "string inharmonicity&q...

Re: Are you rocking a mac or a pc?
Also, I should just add that there is a probably a psychological factor whereby mac fans will be much less critical of their machines when they *do* go wrong, as to do so would be tantamount to admitting that they have made the wrong decision and spent much more than they needed to. And no-one likes...

Re: Are you rocking a mac or a pc?
Just started using a new Dell laptop, with an i7 processor. It's zooming along rather nicely thus far. Macbooks aren't yet quadcore. The nearest comparable Macbook (off the top of my head) had 2GB less RAM, a slower hard drive, and worse processor, yet was £500 more expensive. I know a lot of people...

Re: exporting track from one set to another ?
FM ? RTFM ?
I've just never had to export one track into another set before, so it's never been an issue. I've only recently starting playing with Ableton properly.

exporting track from one set to another ?
Does anyone know if there's a way to export an audio track (or a midi track) from one set to another, while keeping the various devices/effects associated with it ?
Thanks
Matt
