Re: DSP-Quattro 3.0...finally
Hey Tarekith! You mean this one? http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/waveeditor/ Your experience? I'm using Soundtrack Pro right now. Have you compared these? What I don't like on STP, is that I can't move a selection in the editor, like in Logic when pressing alt. At least I couldn't find it... Ha...

Re: Hard drives, backups questions
You should also check, if your external HD is formatted the right way. Most new HDs come preformatted for PC (FAT 32). You should defenitely change that to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) in Disk Utility. Also even if you wanna have just one partition, check it has GUID partition scheme (for an Intel Ma...

Re: Does Live take advantage of 8 cores?
Plugins like Kontakt and Reaktor could easily use another 4GB each.. Are you sure? I thought 3rd party AUs RAM consumption is added to Lives RAM consumtion up to the 4 (3.5?) GB limit. Anybody with Kontakt, Reaktor etc. checked this out in Activity Monitor with some big libraries? In Logic you can ...

Re: Hard drives, backups questions
Hey Sebastian! Do not partition your internal HD! The point of partitioning your external HD: Let's say your internal HD is 250, or 500GB. Thats much less than your external 1TB HD. Usually you want to have a bootable external clone, which is identical to your internal HD. If you erase something on ...

Re: Hard drives, backups questions
Hey Sebastian Get Carbon Copy Cloner. It's donationware & can do incremental & bootable backups. I use it all the time & it works like a charm! Partition the 1TB Drive as Rave said. For your Intel Mac use the Guid partition scheme in Disc Utility. One partition as big as your internal dr...

Hi Alan! The CPU Usage Simulator was set to 80% with a safe 80 samples. Different audio-interfaces can make a big difference on latency / CPU-usage! I try to keep 60GB (or so...) free on my 320GB systemdrive (virtual memory/swap). Video-stuff on the audio drive. At least 10% is usually recomended. K...
