when it comes to edit and cutting samples and final mastering better use a wave-editor program like sound forge or whatever you like.

That's also a reason I switched from vinyl to live.
In Europe vinylpressings from this kind of music are hard to find or only cd release.
Now in live a can use both!!! ( cd & vinyl )

today i hooked up a m-audio firewire audiophile soundcard to my portable with a 4pin connection and ac-powercable.
headphonevolume sounds loud enough for cueing at loud p.a.(live) settings.
just to let you know : this one rocks.

isn't it possiple to let live detect the bpm of your phonotrack by using the tap-function (assigned to a midicontrolpad for accurate tapping)? if it's 4/4 you can't miss a drumhit. the tap is located in the upper left corner of your live screen.
