in tha arrangement view live behave like any other sequencer.
when it comes to edit and cutting samples and final mastering better use a wave-editor program like sound forge or whatever you like.

That's also a reason I switched from vinyl to live.
In Europe vinylpressings from this kind of music are hard to find or only cd release.
Now in live a can use both!!! ( cd & vinyl )
Are there many dj's playing this sort of trance ?

very good idea to do, using shortcuts improve your workflow and it's better for your wrist.

i personally don't recomment this combination. a friend of me had a tiger + o1X, and it didn't work properly.no clear audio signal output. high cpu, + a lot of other trouble.we didn't find a solution. so bad , he returned the yamaha back to the store. sad story.

maybe his record(ing)s are more musical and interresting then what he put on stage.
i have this 12" of m.herbert from the late 90' were he uses samples of bottles and bwaaurps and bottleblowing. good arrangment and editing, not so possible in "live"circumstances.
for me it's no more arty then other ...

i think it's wise to prepare your tracks:
set warpmarkers>save , in clip enveloppe
if you wanna do this in a real time djset, you'll no time to decide wich track yo play next, if not pre-warped :it takes a few seconds before the track is loaded in the session view, only the first time put it ...

bought it yesterday and it's not that special.
was expecting more tricks and indeep view behind the surface of the live interface. good for starters.
it shows also how different someone can utilise it, see tutorial for dj-ing with live.
this copy will sell to the max, i guess.

today i hooked up a m-audio firewire audiophile soundcard to my portable with a 4pin connection and ac-powercable.
headphonevolume sounds loud enough for cueing at loud p.a.(live) settings.
just to let you know : this one rocks.

isn't it possiple to let live detect the bpm of your phonotrack by using the tap-function (assigned to a midicontrolpad for accurate tapping)? if it's 4/4 you can't miss a drumhit. the tap is located in the upper left corner of your live screen.
