It's not only about "audio quality". It's about the functionality that the audio interface is giving you. Almost 8 years after the original MFII, unless you buy another RME, you won't get anything similar.
I'm a RME ExpressCard user myself. Either change to a USB RME or buy the ExpressCard.

Last finished work - Electro-dance? 124 bpm
Posting here, just in case anyone wants to waste 5 minutes ;) Don't know exactly how to classify this. http://soundcloud.com/obmun/suuucks-untitled * Total work time: around 7 hours (this afternoon-evening) * Only Suite 8: no external VST plug-ins. Just Operator, Analog, Live effects, Impulse, Colli...

Re: Interface Issue
Never happened to me (Win XP & Win 7).
On the screenshot you posted, it seems just that the arranger view did not resize itself to fill the empty space that the device/clip part and the right column spaces left.

Re: research...These Live Devices do not compensate delays :
An EQ8, in hi-quality mode, has some kind of LPF with a very high cut freq (around 20 kHz or so), _even_ if all EQ bands are disabled. So, it won't cancel. Also, in hi-q exclusively, it's affecting input signal phase, specially from 1KHz onwards (for f < 700 Hz is almost undetectable), with a perfec...

Re: song is too quiet? use multiband compression
Yep. Pretty good tool. On the time control subject, it's essential to be able to control attack and release parameters for the different frequency bands, for avoiding "distorting" your sound. One must be careful with the release the lower the freq you're processing. Without multiband compr...

Re: Mastering Fail - Thinking about giving up now after 7 years.
Hi Paul. I'm just going to give you my opinion on a few of the subjects you touch on your post. Music is another form of communication. That means that you should try to tell something through your music. Once you achieve that, your music gets a purpose, and it no longer matters what others think ab...

Re: RME Multiface 2
Forgot about the OS and Ableton.
Used the MF2 on Windows XP, Vista and 7 as well as Linux (Gentoo and Fedora).
Tested extensively with Suite 7 and Suite 8.

Re: RME Multiface 2
Hi Lineworker. I've been using RME interfaces for 5 years. The first one I bought was a MultiFace 2, almost after it replaced the original MF1. And it's the one I use daily on my studio. It's been a high-quality rock solid interface with continuous driver updates and support throught these years. I ...

Re: Last finished work - techno / electronica
Hi gjm. First, I really believe that just the fact that you have spent some of your time hearing my work is a big favor you're doing me. I don't mind who you're at all; you've dedicated me some of your time. But you also decided to tell me your opinion. And that's even more valuable. And I really co...

Re: Last finished work - techno / electronica
Takerith, thanks you for your hearing and your opinion. Really appreciated. In general I also had the impression that the song was just too harsh. I was almost inclined to reduce high freq content to make it a little more warm. There is not only one white noise sound but a few of them, at least a to...

Last finished work - techno / electronica
Cooked yesterday night. http://soundcloud.com/obmun/the-obmun-no-fucking-brain First time I share something here. Don't know why I did not before. 135 bpm melodic mixed techno / electronica piece. Central gear is obviously my 8 Suite. Add to that Absynth (various instances), some sounds from my RD70...

Re: Edirol UA-25
Afin, I'm just curious. Did you notice if the period it takes the driver to disappear is constant? Always 1 week? Exactly 1 week? Maybe it's a Windows thing (updates?)... Have you tried on a different computer? The EX and my original unit seem very similar, but they're not the same [I bet they're us...

Re: Edirol UA-25
Set the back switch to advanced, but still have to use ASIO as the main driver. When you say ASIO, I suppose you're referring to ASIO4ALL, under the Ableton ASIO drivers category. Does the UA-25 driver appear listed? Even if the UA-25 is not connected, and even if you have advanced mode set to off,...

Re: Edirol UA-25
Hi objectman. No problem here. I've been using my UA-25 yesterday with a newly installed 8.0.4, but I don't know your system specs. Mine: Core 2 Duo notebook, running WinXP SP3. I suppose that when you say that Live does not see your drivers, you mean that Ableton does not see the ASIO drivers for t...
