i'm wondering if i should even bother with getting an external card (ie. USB) for my G3 Book, or just use live with core audio.

i am a new user with i have a g3 400 powerbook, 192 MB ram, OSX.2, core audio.
probably not surprisingly i'm getting a lot of audio dropouts after activating around 7 tracks.
