I downloaded Ableton Suite 8.2.1 windows version last night. The Setup.exe file will not run. I click on it, it hangs for a while, but nothing happens.
I am running Windows Vista. I have installed various versions of Live previously with no problem.
Is this something others have seen? Any way to ...

Re: Monome Emulator for APC40 - free fun for you APC users!
So I'm trying to get 7up working on APC40. Here are the steps I've followed so far (running on Windows Vista):
Run MAX Runtime
In MAX Runtime open monomulator maxpat file
Run 7up
Go to monomulator screen enter box prefix, hit return in port boxes - MAX runtime shows binding to Port 8080
Run 7up JAR ...

A dummie's guide to Monomulator and SevenUpLive for APC40
So I finally got my APC40 on Friday (ordered in May, thanks Musician's Friend). One thing I'd really like to try out is the monomulator from trackteam audio, especially with 7up, but I have to admit that the configuration is probably more confusing than I can figure out.

Thanks all for the great feedback!
very jazzy and lots of cool transitions. are you dropping clips on the the scene or recording extra midi stuff? you definitely keep it flowing without any noticable mistakes

Looks like this is working now. I guess it just needed some extra time to process before it could be accessed by everyone.

Re: Redline Hookah - My first Ableton Live gig
That's annoying. I'm not sure why it is doing this - my other songs on there work fine. Could have something to do with the length of the track?
I'll see what I can do to get this working.

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
I pre-ordered mine back in May from Musician's Friend and now I'm finding out that it probably won't ship until the end of July!

Now a trip to the Jazzy side
Hey folks, I've taken a bit of a departure on my newest track, "Smokey", trying out a more jazz-oriented flavor.
Come check it out at my IMEEM page:

I disagree with the James Blunt example where he doesn't make music that he would listen to. I struggled for a long time making music ...

Here's a sweet video: Customize the APC40

Can anyone explain how he is switching to different modes in the video? I understand that he programmed the different modes using Bome, but how does he switch back and forth between them?

Re: showing my ignorance-define 'producer'
I think the confusion is that producer has two different but similar meanings:
In traditional recorded music, the producer is the person who oversees the recording session.
In electronic dance music, the producer is the person who creates the tracks.
