Nice track, my man! 8)
Thanks! The whole project was pretty wild, I re-scored an entire 80s film for fun:

Re: Worth Adding an Elektron Analog 4

FYI, it's an expensive ecosystem  My Analog Rytm was freaking out on Friday night, low hum across all outputs. Booted to the system menu (hold Function while booting), did a diag and had an error on Audio LR 12345678. Was really worried I'd have to ship it for repair - turned out the problem wa...

Re: Worth Adding an Elektron Analog 4

Might as well, right? The MK2 looks nice - the new features like a redesigned deeper bass and the OLED screen and all that - but essentially it's the same as the A4 in a different case. As far as latency with OB goes, your mileage may vary. I don't have a problem with it and I prefer OB howeve...

Re: Worth Adding an Elektron Analog 4

Would you use Overbridge? I have the Analog Rytm, Four and Heat. I use them almost exclusively with Overbridge but a lot of people do not. I tend to dislike the sequencers but you can get some great results with them (trig locks and such). There's also some amazing visual tutorial videos from macpro...

Re: My Best/Worst Purchases

I've owned a lot of gear since I started in 1997 but I think my most current rig is the best I've had considering all the challenges I had over the years. Best purchases: Komplete Kontrol S61 (by far) NI Komplete Ultimate 11 - so deep and so much material! Omnisphere 2 - speaks for itself Elektron A...

Re: Spitfire Audio: BT Phobos

Phobos got an update to v1.0.5 today. It adds Komplete Kontrol support (that doesn't fatally crash it on launch now).
Still a bit of a kluge-y install as I wound up just trashing my original install and re-installing the whole damn thing but the Komplete Kontrol fix is great for me as a user.

Re: Question about mastering

Hi, I'm trying to learn a bit more about mastering and have a question. Say that I'm trying to go for -12dB LUFS integrated loudness on my track. I slap on a limiter and limit until I have the loudness I want. At this stage I can clearly hear limiter distortion. I therefore slap on an eq, cut stuff...

Re: What sounds better, mastering for YouTube or SoundCloud?

Depends on how dynamic a song is to begin with, and where the original LUFS value is. They both auto-adjust whatever is fed to them to -13LUFS so if the track isn't mastered to that it'll get squashed.

Re: Best way to save audio clips as samples for future use

If you're looking to create a library for yourself of audio clips you've created, you need to start organized at the beginning and stay organized. Normally what I do is record the clip I'm looking to export by routing the audio to an audio track, record it then export it into an appropriate folder. ...

Re: Spitfire Audio: BT Phobos

FYI everybody, I uninstalled Phobos today, and reinstalled it on my main HD to see if there would be a difference in loading time. I originally had it on an 8TB HDD connected via USB 3. My HD is an SSD. The initial loading time went from ~20 seconds to under 3 seconds. Of course, this is with an SSD...

Re: Any tips on how to make cool electronic background sounds?

Spread your creative wings and fly! Making these little bits is probably the most fun I have making music tbh. Play a game of "let's see if we can break Ableton" by just piling on FX or loading up something in Sampler and making the loop so granular it goes into tonal territory - or ...

Re: Mixing tips

Mixing is...a journey. You have to have a firm idea of what you want at the beginning stages in order to get the end results you want. Are you using a reference track? Usually if you want to sound like "artist x" it's a good idea to get a high-quality .wav of one of their tracks to play si...
