Re: Filter Sweep
I'm not sure how to describe it. The sweep itself is very big and very musical with the resonance part leading to an extremes that somehow fall short of harsh and the bottom end of the eq will find subsonic bass in anything with a hint of low end. I have a great example in one of my recordings and ...

Re: Filter Sweep
OK, Ableton crew. This is a challenge you should accept with relish. Give us a truly musical and VAST resonance/filter effect that can be applied to any channel. Auto-filter is LAME sounding. I want to go from sparkling clean to crushing low only and back to cranky highs with two knobs. This is such ...

Re: Transition effects
Figure out your outro effects and make groups of them, then you just turn your effect set on at the moment you want it to start. Alternately you can set your FX up on one of the subs and fade into that sub as the song ends. If you're just mixing down then you can play with each method to see which ...

Filter Sweep
My Roland SP-808 had a fantastic filter as a stand alone feature. You could assign it to any track or the master and it had resonance and eq on two knobs (and the knobs could be replaced by the two sides of the D-beam controller which was wicked). I can't seem to find a simple filter like this that ...

Re: oxygen 8 keyboard not working with Ableton
None of the nobs on my Oxygen 8 will map with Live 8. I can see action in the midi area but the nobs can't be linked to any function. The keys work, the octave up/down works, and the pitch wheel works but none of the nobs work. I also have updated all my drivers. I'm using a brand new Windows 7 ...

Tuner in amp
Seriously, did you guys have a guitarist involved in your amp project? A quick and easy tuner should be at the front of the design. What were you thinking? Now I have to open Amplitube just to tune my guitar before I can even try your amp thingy. Either offer a tuner as its own effect (can anyone ...

Re: Live 8 Suite Midi Clips
I remain flummoxed. Anyone? From the videos it looks like there are supposed to be loads of clips for drum racks, operator, session drums, etc. and I'm just not finding them.

Live 8 Suite Midi Clips
I've been trying to figure this out for two days. Where are the midi clips for designer drums, etc.? I find .als files in the "Clips" folder but nothing I can drag onto a drum kit to play a beat for me. I'm sure the answer to this will embarrass me but I'm flummoxed.

Re: Problem with exporting / rendering :(
Try using the resample function and send your master mix to a track. You'll get a "what you hear" copy at least.

Re: Bass Delay and Mix Control
So, Ive had some time to try various things and here's what I've found:
1. The phase cancellation is in the native reverb in Live. When I switch to a VST reverb the vocals are present and where they belong. With the Live reverb everything sounds just fine until I mix it down and then the center of ...

Re: any bass players/guitarists in the place ?
I have a Fender Jazz bass and a hot-rodded 80's JB Player strat style guitar and an acoustic.
Both electric bass and guitar go through my Focusrite Platinum Tone Factory pre-amp as DI and then into the M-Audio Delta-44. The Focusrite is the best bass pre-amp I've ever used though for recording I ...

Re: Bass Delay and Mix Control
No. Everything's in the digital domain.
Thanks.
This particular mix has each part mixed down to stereo audio tracks with minimal effects (a touch of eq here, a bit of compression there) on each track except for the drums which are Impulse midi. The vocal parts are all mixed as one track and sound ...

Re: My ONE BIG WISH: to type the value of an envelope point!
It seems that this and envelopes are two things the Ableton folks are deadset against doing, either that or they really don't read these threads.
I can't tell you how many times I've gotten the beginning of an envelope exactly where I want it and then have to fight with all the zooming and crap to ...

Re: The Little List of Tips and Tricks
Someone (other than me) should re-condense this thread, maybe starting with Live 7 hints and then putting 6, 5, and so on. I've never made it more than a couple of pages into this 16 page thread and I've got a feeling I'm missing a few nice tips that are tucked away.
