seems like your looking at two very different controllers....i would personally go w the apc40 especially if your planning on playing live since it has the clip launch grid

you need an audio interface for this...if you have that.... select the interface as your audio input in live preferences (hit config button and make sure inputs are lit up), then on an audio track select ext. IN then IN 1/2 or whatever you plugged your instrument into....arm the track to record and ...

decent start....minimal shit like this is all based on subtle complexities of the beat/percussion so you might want to work on spicing that up a little....also try using filters to fade things in/out and to change up the timbres of your synths

just get a launchpad or an apc40...they look cool live anyway

ableton does crash a lot! kinda sucks but i am almost always able to recover my work, is that not the case for you? what version are you running?

are you working in arrangement view? you might want to play around w the OVR (overwrite im assuming) button at the top next to the play button....i think this will solve your problem

you need an audio interface w multiple outputs to do this.....so once you have that, you just set your master outs to 1/2 and your cue out to 3 and plug your headphones into output 3 on your interface

then just hit the cue button on any audio track you would like to hear out of your headphones

Does anyone know how to record just the reverb of something to a new audio track?....for example if i have reverb on a bass and want just the reverb on a different track Steve Angelo does this in logic on his Future Music interview video and then uses the reverb recording throughout the whole track....
