Re: How is Touchosc on a iPod?

I couldn't get TouchOsc to work with the TouchOsc editor on my iPod Touch (with OSX). I've tried writing to the developer but so far no one's got back to me. As it is, TouchOsc works fine with osculator, but I can't get it to load the livecontrol template. I should stress other people have had no ...

Re: Griid/Cliip- iPad controller lets you get INSIDE clips

I've been playing around with the Griid Lite app on my IPod Youch 2g and am very impressed. I notice, though, that the new full app seems to need 3.2 and I'm running 3.1.3. I'm loathe to upgrade the OS as many people have had problems. May I take it that 3.1.3 is no longer sufficient for Griid? I ...

Re: Korg NanoPAD worth it?

Nanopad? Pure rubbish, I'm afraid. I'm on my third - two replaced under guarantee, and the latest had pads fail pretty much from the start. I've got it working by sticking bits of cardboard between the pads and the sensors, but that's hardly a recommendation, is it?

Stories of Nanopad ...

Re: some music theory questions

One good reason to learn other keys is to enable you to play with other people. Some instruments - sax, trumpet, etc - are tuned to a given key (Bb; Eb, I think). If you play with singers you'll have to work to their key.

On a less practical level, although C (the white notes on a keyboard) seems ...

Re: Allen Carr's Easy Way To Stop Smoking

It took me two attempts to stop smoking using Allen Carr's ideas. The second time seems to have worked - I haven't smoked for 15 years, and I was a heavy smoker before that. I haven't missed smoking at all.

There were two things that helped me enormously. The first was Carr's revelation that you ...

Update for Live LE?

Does anyone have any idea if there will be one? I'm a new customer - came in with LE7 - so I don't know how soon LE is updated after the main release update.

Thanks in advance for any guesses! :D

Re: FM Hardware vs FM Software- Got an Opinion?

I used to have a DX7 and DX11. Sold them both. They're the only synths I regret selling. The original DX7 was a flawed beast (MIDI spec terrible/noisy output) but it was somehow marvellous. FM8 (I've only tried the demo) is very versatile and crystal clear, but lacks the DX7's "character". Perhaps ...

Yes, that's the one. You always had to admire JZ for his modesty! I loved - "I needed their imagination, but only to a small degree." Excellent record, Di-a-lects, BTW.

I read an excellent article a few years ago in Soundonsound about Joe Zawinul and his appraoch to music. It should be available for free by doing a search on the soundonsound site.

Could be. Odd, though, because all the other instruments in the manual seem to be there.

If it is a misprint, it's a strange one. You'd think it would be easy enough to take it out of the .pdf manuals at least. If it's deliberate, it's certainly a bit misleading. With only two external plug-in ...

Instruments missing in LE?

Hi

I was wondering if any Live LE users might be able to tell me why there seem to be none of the advertised bass instruments (jazz bass, electric bass etc) in the EIC LE? They're in the manual, but not in the liveset?

It's a significant omission if they've been dropped.

Many thanks if you can ...
