Live 8.4 - "Library" installed on the wrong Drive

Hello, I bought a new computer. I have the BOOT DRIVE on a smaller capacity drive and have it on Raid 1 setup. I thought I had INSTALLED Ableton 8.4 and Sonar X2 on a separate internal 2TB drive. I wanted to keep all audio files, samples etc. on a drive other than the Boot drive. After starting up A...

Re: Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 as EDITOR ??

Hello,

Thanks for your replies. I guess its safe to purchase Sound Forge Ausio Studio 10. I'm quite sure that it will run on Win 7 64bit. but Sony's web site only mentions Win 7 but not Win 7 64bit. I guess today any mention of Win 7 automatically includes 32bit and 64bit.

Thanks
Ed

Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 as EDITOR ??

Hello, I finally purchased a new 64bit computer. I was using "Sound Forge 10" that a friend of mine installed on my computer. I don't have the disk to re-install it. What I was using Sound Forge for is covered by the "Sound Forge Audio Studio 10". Some years ago, the Audio Studio...

Re: New Computer for Live 9 - Win 7 or 8 ??

Hello everyone, Wow!! Lots of response in 24 hours ! I'm not a "computer tech" and I don't have the time or the patience to build my own computer. I've been using a PC since 1984 so I'm not about to pay twice as much to switch to a MAC. A decade or so ago, MAC for "creative work"...

New Computer for Live 9 - Win 7 or 8 ??

Hello, I'm ready to buy a new computer. I see that most PCs today come pre-loaded with Win 8. I've heard some talks that says Win 7 is better for Audio. I prefer Win 7, its had more time to get it straight and working reliably than Win 8 . . . I think. Any comments / experience with Win 8 ?? If you ...

Re: Newbie - Copying Automation moves

outsidesys & DanMan, AHAaaaaa ! Click-drag INSIDE the AUTOMATION LANE !!! WHY didn't I think of THAT . . .  That works. The same selection method as the "track" area works for the Automation Lane. Only if they had included a phrase like that in the Manual, even I'd get it....

Re: Midi sync issues, ableton not in sync with machines

Hello Craig11, 1. Is the drum machine hooked up to your computer via MIDI as well as Audio ?? 2. Is your drum machine capable of sending MTC (Midi Time Code) ? 3. Ableton "Likes" to be the slave, rather than being the master. That means you would need set up your drum machine as the Master...

Newbie - Copying Automation moves

Hello, I'm trying to copy an automation move from one track to another. In the manual under automation, Section 18.4.4 on Page 228, it talks about the "Edit menu command". But it says nothing about HOW TO SELECT anything. Selecting a track in Arrangement view and copying & Pasting give...

Hey guys, thanks for your replies. I am a TOTAL DOOFUS !!! I left a message with my friend who is a young kid (24 years old) whose been teaching me some stuff on Ableton. I teach him mixing and mastering. He is totally into Dubstep. I'm more towards Chill & slower Dance with vocals. Anyway, he l...

Re: Newbie - Drum Rack Questions

Cool Character, When I Right-click on a pad with sound, the only selection I get is "Rename" or "Delete". I don't see the selection "group". I already created a new "Multi" for my kick sound using "Kick 707" and "Kick 707-b". I did it someh...

Hello, DAAG-NAABITT !! One mystery solved . . . then right into another one :? Now I can move pad sounds between different racks. Now I am trying to combine 2 pad sounds into a new one to create a "Multi" pad. I already created one a while back, but when I try to do it again, it doesn't wo...

Flipping a Stereo Audio Clip ?

Hello, I'm a Newbie user so I may have missed a command somewhere that will do what I want to accomplish. I've been working on adding a sound effect in the Intro, a thunder clap. The original sample was recorded in stereo but the particular sample I'm using starts out "Left weighted" and o...

antarktika, Ahaaa ! DIFFERENT choke group for EACH SOUND. That works. Now I understand why I was just getting a "click" sound . . . it was choking itself . . . a "sound suicide" :P Also, for your other question, you can drag pads between two drum racks, so if you're just trying t...
