Re: NI Komplete 8 is coming!

Not surprisingly, this appears to go lock step with Maschine. Since I don't have Maschine nor does it make sense for me to own one, especially at that price, I don't see any reason to upgrade. I still haven't explored even half of what's in K7. Pass. +1. I've barely scratched the surface of Komplet...

Re: Would you recommend an iPad v1?

I have a first-gen iPad, I think it's great and have no problems at all with touchAble or TouchOSC (or other music apps). Maybe the iPad 2 is faster, but if the price is very low and you want it now, you might as well go for it.

Re: Most Underated Ableton Plugin/Tool

The Reverb gets too much hate, IMO. It's not great for everything but I find it surprisingly versatile.

Re: Looking for quality one shot house drum samples.

I really like the Deadmau5 Xfer pack too. It leans towards techno but there are a lot of good sounds in there, particularly the kicks. I also recommend Joey Youngman's Jacked Out Future House pack, if you're making funky house, since it's geared towards that specifically.

DAMN YOU APOGEE! I love my Duet - how could it possibly sound any better? I have to send my Duet in to be serviced anyway, and I bet you they won't upgrade it.

I nabbed it, just to get LFO Tool. A drawable LFO that can send MIDI CC, for $10? Not a bad deal at all, I say.

Re: Control: free iOS OSC and MIDI interface software

I finally got a chance to try Control out and I gotta say, it shows a lot of promise. There are a few things I'd like to see improved, and then it would blow TouchOSC right out of the water. I love the fact that you used JSON and JavaScript as the interface building language - I'm a web developer so...

Eastern Experiment - System Crash Imminent

Kind of a deep/progressive/trance vibe going here. It's been getting a very positive reaction so far and will be (has been already?) played on DI.fm's progressive channel. Thought I might share it here, too. It's a collaboration between myself and a friend in Philly - we used Ableton and Komplete to...

Re: Best compact audio interface?

If you're on a Mac, I personally LOVE the Apogee Duet. It's simple, pretty limited in functionality (no MIDI or anything like that), but boy does it sound pristine. Worth the price.

I have the V-Collection, and my favorite is the Prophet V so I second razorblade's opinion.

Looks awesome! Let us know when Apple approves it, cause I'd really like to give it a try.

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD

Bought an iPad today, specifically for TouchAble and TouchOSC. This app is AMAZING!!! I can sell almost all my MIDI hardware now. I'd like to see an X/Y pad too, as well as padKontrol-style roll and flam functions, but apart from that I think TouchAble is worth every penny!

Re: The best DJ software, in your opinion?

I switched from Torq to Deckadance, and I think Deckadance is awesome. I've sampled Serato (too threadbare) and Traktor (too unintuitive for me). Deckadance FTW.
