It isn't possible in Live 6 at least, which is a shame. On the advice of some helpful people here I implemented a workaround. It IS possible to select the device with the keyboard (repeated alt-arrows if I remember correctly) so with the aid of Boomes midi translator I managed to automap my Kaoss Pa...

Behringer BCR/BCF 2000 probably comes closest when you are on a budget. Or the Evolution UC-33e.

Have you chosen the right drivers? It should probably be something with "asio" in the name in Live's audio prefs. If everything is configured correctly, you should see all your inputs where you currently only see 1&2. Works fine for me with multiple ins and outs both on my stationary a...

Midi doesn't transmit audio. You need to hook up your keyboard with audio cables. Also do yourself a favour and use the www.asio4all.com drivers for much lower latency.

Try syncing from hardware now that you have changed to midi clock. That should work better.

(BTW, Live can't send midi time code so that setting doesnt affect output)

I've had pretty bad results with the OSX editor, like crashes every three minutes. My Micro works fine with my PC though, so bootcamp my be a solution.

Deadlines is the saviour. But it must be real deadlines, eg you know that in X days you are going to go on stage and play for real people. Can do wonders for your will to settle for "good enough". :D

I've also had excellent results running Live as a slave (to my Korg EMX). Not so good the other way around. If you have a set that is maxing out the CPU you will of course run into problems either way.

You could sync over Ethernet which you presumably already have. Test ipMidi from here:

Change the decay on the slot. Or change the mode to "Gate" and then draw long midi notes.

Use an clip envelope to change wet/dry for the delay. Or even better, put the delay on a send (100% wet) and modify send amount with a clip envelope.

Might that be because they are VSTs for Windows...? You have to look for the OSX version (universal binary probably) for Mac.

Yellow Tools just realeased a freeware version of their sampler. It comes with a 2 GB (!) free sound library that probably should cover most of your orchestral needs.

I don't DJ. When I go to a club I want to listen to some good beats. I couldn't care less what technology the DJ uses. If he is extremely good/experienced he could probably play them from his IPod while having a smoke and I would neither notice nor care. I do realize that in most instances it is goo...
