Re: The Session Record Button
If I understand your question correctly, at least part of the answer is to make it possible to do stuff in Session view that includes launching clips, recording material into new clips, and generally messing around, thus yielding a live performance; and while that performance is going on, to record ...

Re: Splitting encoders and pads?
You can lock Push to a device (right-click the device's header and you'll see the option). But if you're talking about P3S here, then there's no way currently. I am talking about P3S. FWIW, here's what I'm trying to do. I have a MIDI drum loop going. The track on which the loop lives has a drum kit...

Splitting encoders and pads?
Is there any way to use the pads to play notes from one track while simultaneously using the encoders to control settings on a different track?

How to lock Launchpad Pro MK3 to a track?
I'm trying to do something that ought to be simple, but I don't see how to do it. I have a Live set with a bunch of MIDI tracks, some of which contain drum racks. I want to be able to connect a Launchpad Pro MK3 to my computer and lock it to one of those tracks, so that whatever else is going on, th...

Re: Select MIDI input on Push standalone?
Aha! Your suggestion sent me in the right direction, though it didn't quite get me there. The trick is that you have to press the second button above the jog wheel TWICE. The first press gets you to the mixer view; subsequent presses toggle between the mixer view and a menu of more detailed options:...

Re: Select MIDI input on Push standalone?
When you said that “…the external keyboard must be set to the selected MIDI channel of the track,” how do I do that if the track is using MPE?

Re: Select MIDI input on Push standalone?
What does “the selected MIDI channel of the track” mean in the contest of MPE?

Select MIDI input on Push standalone?
Suppose I have a MIDI controller (such as a keyboard) connected to the Push USB input. Is there a way to have that controller send MIDI to one track while the Push built-in pads send MIDI to another track? I want to be able to play more than one sound at a time. If I can do it for a controller plugg...

Which one is the Push 3 cable again?
I managed to get the cable that came with my Push 3 mixed up with a bunch of other cables and don't remember which one it is. Normally, I wouldn't care--but I think the one that came with Push is the one with two USB-C connectors and a ferrite bead (black cylindrical device) wrapped around the cable...

Is there no way to change the number of macros (or the names of the macros) in an Instrument Rack using Push?

Re: Copying all my abelton files from desktop to laptop
I keep all my Ableton stuff synced between my desktop and laptop computers. Desktop is Windows 10, laptop is Windows 11. On each machine, I have a single folder with the same path name. It contains subfolders for the factory packs, user library, etc. Over my local network, I use a program called fre...

Re: 'Ableton Push 3 xPort' missing driver Win11
I reported the problem to Ableton Support, who informed me that the xPort driver is an internal debugging tool that is not distributed along with Push. Therefore, the missing xPort driver is a normal phenomenon.

Re: 'Ableton Push 3 xPort' missing driver Win11
Also seems like (at least with push 2) Ableton will attempt to reinstall drivers if you uninstall them from device manager. My (possibly incorrect) understanding is that when one installs a driver, it gets squirreled away in a folder (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers, perhaps?) where the operating syste...

Re: Install Ableton 11 App to Drive other than C?
Three observations: 1) In general, when you install Live, my experience is that it asks where to install it. Are you not seeing that? 2) The Live installation goes by default into C:\ProgramData, because that folder has some weird system-defined properties that are necessary to make auto-updating po...
