Yes, it seems the ableton are aware. Here is the reply they gave me:

Live does not have a track/VST specific latency compensation yet.
This is the reason for this behaviour.

delay in recording while using vst / vsti
I have conducted this test on 3 computers with the same result. There
is a delay invoked every time i create a new clip using vsti 's or
channels with vst fx.
