Re: Live and Snapdragon X Elite

For sure it will be compatible down the line, but surely you can't expect it right now. Qualcomm has to prove itself by significant adoption of the market, finding and fixing early bugs. and providing both documentation and direct vendor support to get drivers and more complext CPU instructions sets ...

Re: Push 2 midi clip 'Repeat' problem

Wow, I'm using v11.3.10 and the big still lives. I had to disable arrangement loop while working in session view. Good thing I wasn't performing...live.

Re: Ableton Push 3 update

As a Push 2 user, I'm just hoping for a push mini that retains 16 pads, 8 knobs, and the same note repeat functionality in a compact form.

Their biggest potential market is users looking for a drum machine feel with their DAW, not necessarily a mass plugin integration like Maschine MK3, which is ...

Re: Live, MacBookPro, external monitor and CPU

Display uses GPU which gets hot and causes the fan to run loud. If you’re room’s ambient temperature and air flow is inadequate, it adds to the temps. This causes CPU throttling to maintain safe temperatures. So if your computer is too hot, you won’t reach the true potential of your CPU clock.

Re: ableton push 3

or something else like an ableton piano (good idea)

No offense but I don't think that's a good idea. Ableton isn't about that and I can't think of something an "Ableton piano" could bring to the table that a good third party MIDI controller/keyboard like the Novation Launchkey or something ...

Re: iMac Pro

I just built a similar PC to the iMac Pro and it cost me $1200 less. Apple is overpriced.
Exactly. Apple is overpriced. Typical Apple fanboys will question your build and ask you to "prove it" "show me receipts" "show me links". They get butt hurt. Ha.

I agree Apple marks a significant price ...

Re: iMac Pro

CPU throttling - With so many cores packed into a machine that still uses small fans to move heat, you may not get the full potential of the expensive CPUs. When internal temperature reaches a preset threshold (like a compressor/limiter), the CPU speed will be automatically decreased.

If so ...

Re: Do you still use 128s with Push 2?

I try not to exceed 64 pads per drum rack. It does slow down Ableton’s responsiveness and load time significantly. It may have something to do with Live’s file indexing and sample analysis processes. I hope for better implementation in version 10.

Re: iMac Pro

Fortunately, the eGPU situation is evolving quickly. Hooking up a high end CUDA card via Thunderbolt 3 is a better solution for the creative who moves around a lot. One can travel around with the laptop, making necessary video/3D edits, then render at a later time. It beats having to use two ...

I meant having an iMac Pro is for those who want to avoid an external monitor for 5k display.

As for temps, we’ll see.

Re: iMac Pro

I love and use only Apple computers, but I say its a good idea to miss this one. If money does not come easy, avoid buying first generation machines, especially those that have impressive specs. Here’s sometimes to think about.

CPU throttling - With so many cores packed into a machine that still ...

Re: ableton push 3

The Push 2 is pretty much future proof. It’s like a Tesla car, there were so many features not activated at release that will now be discovered in Live 10. I knew this from buying the Retouch Pusher2 script for reason and saw all the instruments icons in color on the Push screen. It seems that ...
