thanks for the reply! interesting.
since you work in the pop vein, i'm sure fidelity is always a concern. have you done any critical listening to any Ableton vs. PT mixes? It seems to be one of the criticisms of Ableton is that the mixing/audio engine is not nearly as pristine as some of the high ...

Re: Recording Bus level Automation..HELP !!!
i hope i'm not hijacking the thread, but since you did get your answer.....:)
can i ask why you are working in Ableton? I'm just curious, because i've been working with Ableton since v3, and i've always told myself that I should work in ProTools, because that's the 'industry standard'. But when i ...

Re: :2 *2 buttons greyed out in clip view
hmmm...have to investigate this further.
no, the track isn't armed.
the clips are warped.
on one of my old projects i pulled up, in Arrangement mode, i started clicking on clips in the timeline... certain of the clips have the half/double available, others are greyed out. i couldn't see a pattern ...

selecting everything on a track in Arrangement Mode
I've looked through the manual, but can't find something i've always struggled with... Often, i'm zoomed way in on a track, and i need to move everything on that track forwards or backwards to line up correctly, or make creative changes. I want to select all the clips on that track, and do very ...

Re: Syncing Loops in Live 8
ahhhh!
there's no way to get tightly sync'd loops with a live drummer, unless that drummer is playing to a click track (metronome).
or...unless your drummer is clearly hearing your 'first loop' and can play to that loop. Once you lock a loop, THAT is the timekeeper, and the drummer MUST follow that ...

Re: Syncing Loops in Live 8
are you starting the loops after Live is already in play mode? Or are you using the Loopers while Live is in stop mode? this will affect that pitch change you are talking about. If Live is already in play (and you're using the metronome or beats as your guide), then you will get no pitch change. If ...

Re: Copying from one set in another
thanks for so much food for thought....
I think my setup for the four 'looper' returns works for now, and i've worked the bugs out of it for a while and it's pretty stable (ie: fun and creative, rather than scratching of the head!), so i think i'm going to investigate the importing from old sets ...

Re: Copying from one set in another
+1 on the workflow changes. and Live has evolved so radically from the early versions, that i've never really dug in and 'mastered' each version before the upgrade happens. In fact, I probably wouldn't have upgraded to v8 except for that one little rascally thing mentioned.....LOOPER. I just had to ...

Re: Copying from one set in another
guys, thanks for the quick response, even though the news isn't so positive, eh?
dang it.
now, if i start to look at this from the other way around, such as loading my 'template' set, which has the loopers all setup, and then viewing old Live sets from the browser...how do i approach this?....sorry ...

Re: Copying from one set in another
I hope i'm not hijacking this thread, but here's my question.
I have 4 'Looper' effects, loaded one each into 4 send returns, respectively. Each looper has midi controlling record, play, stop, reverse, etc. This is my 'looping' rig. These loopers are setup to be 100% wet. Guitar goes to DI box ...

Re: crash immediatly after boot
I'm getting a similar problem. 8b15 crashes immediately after startup splash screen, but with no report screen. The app just closes.
