Re: Surface Book and Ableton... ACT ABLETON MARKETING!

(even just basic one) in ableton live. one can't turn any knob or move any fader with a finger or a pen. it instantly goes to min or max, nothing inbetween. it's been years. If you know how to make an Options.txt you can add tablet support. add the folowing line to your options.txt file: -absoluteM...

Re: Surface Book and Ableton... ACT ABLETON MARKETING!

as a user of Surface Pro's since the first one (and even teh samsung win8 tablet since win8 beta release), it's fucking annoying to not have proper touch support (even just basic one) in ableton live. one can't turn any knob or move any fader with a finger or a pen. it instantly goes to min or max, ...

Re: How's the Windows 8 Compatibility?

Testing of it is not yet over, and thus there is no official support yet. At least, that's what I've read in the help section somewhere. @UltimateOutsider: quite wrong you are. It does use less resources, and is documented to do so. But whatever. A new windows faster and less resource hungry than th...

Re: Touch support in live 9

nah, once you go touchscreen, you don't want to have to use live with a mouse. i still use the mouse of course, but quickly accessing the knob on any device with touch while messing around would be awesome. it essentially lets your laptop/desktop/tablet be a performance device (like many use an ipad...

Touch support in live 9

I sure hope live9 gets proper touch support. It kinda sucks being able to run live on my win8 tablet, but not being able to twist any knobs properly without a mouse. Traktor the same. Hope they both will update and fix that. If so, live 9 will be an insta-upgrade for me.

Re: When is Live 128bit coming out ?

64bit systems can go up to 4billion x 4gb of ram, that's 16 million tera, or 16000zetabytes.

current cpu's don't support it yet, but the 64bit architecture itself can handle it.

Re: Solid state hard drives?

+1 for backups. no doubt. i still think that as (computer based) musicians... we'd put a lot of load on an SSD. much more so than a typical user. at least, i would. i record audio tracks... vocals, bass, guitar. it's nothing for me to write to a drive 100 times in a session. then there's everything...

Re: How To Optimize Win 7 For Ableton?

BSOD are always driver problems (an app can't create a BSOD on it's own).

so update / reinstall your drivers.

Re: Solid state hard drives?

I really don't think the "write endurance" thing is an issue unless you are doing server intensity work. the write endurance thing will be an issue if you're frequently writing to the drive. SSDs are better for reading than for writing. they're superior in pretty much every other way, spe...

Re: Solid state hard drives?

they drop in price all the time. every year they're less expensive than the year before. it's a steady going-down. and the amount of writes you'd have to do to kill one is, in ordinary usage, enough to have it functional for AT LEAST 10 years. till then, you sure got a new one anyways (if, by then, ...

Re: How To Optimize Win 7 For Ableton?

disabling firewall has no effect. wifi shouldn't with a proper driver.

i have not done any optmisations on any of my systems (laptop, desktop), and it runs perfectly well.

only optimize if you need it.

the static sounds like a sound-driver issue.

Re: Everyone else is 64 bit

Well thats most of the licensed stuff taken care of then (Hadnt noticed those resource files before) - guess they will be busy sorting out core and all the in-house plugins and M4L integration - ie all the really big bits. Bit odd that the 64 bit dlls should be allready in a shipping package though...

Re: NI's new synth - Razor

Just save the presets as rack in live. But yes, from what I see, one can't save own presets in Reaktor Player? Setting up my own synth settings and saving them as a rack works great, so it's no drama. Reaktor costs money because it's their "max4live". Razor so far is a great synth, really ...

i left for you to spread your fud. and i won't be in here much anymore, as you are very annoying. you simply have no clue about software development. nor about "it's a bad sign they changed the file format" and such. there's no reason for it to be a bad sign (au contraire, actually. it loo...
