Re: Missing Samples in Live 8.1.1 (Downloadable Version)
Hi, I just checked my old Live 7 library, and it has four folders in Waveforms/Components: Atmospheric, Attack, Harmonic, and Spectral. I recently upgraded to Live 8 (although on a new machine, so I still have the Live 7 library intact on my old MacBook), and I noticed that now I only have Waveforms...

The GUI is fine with its minimal approach, with no faux hardware knobs -- but: don't you think it's a little on the small side with a regular monitor? I mean, on a 13" MacBook it's OK, but on a 19" LCD with 1440 by 900 resolution it seems kind of silly to be tweaking the instruments and clips in a p...

My impression is that the padKONTROL pads are much more sensitive than those on the microKONTROL or Kontrol 49. Never used a pK, but I have an mK, and the pads are small and pretty stiff, you need to hit them pretty hard, and they haven't really softened over time (too little use, maybe). That video...

I have used Lexicon Omega for over two years now, both on a Windows PC (XP) and on a Mac. Generally it works just fine, except that on the Mac it sometimes doesn't want to be recognized if you plug it in first and only then power it up. I don't recall any particular setup problems with the Omega. I'...

Prime Sequence by Enum out now - start counting
The new dance sensation, "Prime Sequence" by Enum, has been set free on the web! Listen and/or download from: http://www.last.fm/music/Enum/_/Prime+Sequence Done with Ableton Live 5 and Live 6 (switched versions in between) and LinPlug Alpha, and the other bits of kit you see in my signature. Enjoy!

Enum digital singles: OBAFGKM and Hive
Hello, I wanted to let you know that I have finally released some of my music. "Finally" because I'm really slow, and because I was previously a member of a local artist rights society that didn't allow me to release my music using Creative Commons licensing. The best place to listen and/or download...

Selecting the active Impulse slot with MIDI, possible?
Hi, I'm setting up my Korg microKONTROL for some serious tweaking, now that Live 6 finally has direct support for it (if not in Native Mode, still). First problem: Impulse pads (or sample slots, if you will), or rather selecting them. The pads 1...8 on the microKONTROL select the parameters of the c...

Try Malcolm Haylock's VSamp. The Computer Music free soft sampler is called DS-404, but it is starting to be left behind the times - no Universal Binary and could be a little flakey in some newer hosts.
