Satellite Splinter

Indie-pop stuff. I use Live a lot in the studio to lay down programmed drums and trigger sounds. GREAT vocalist.

Normalize

Actually, a lot of people I know normalize to -.2db or so to allow headroom before they ship the songs to be mastered. I simply try to make my songs as loud as possible, getting as close to 0db without going over and then I use a compressor/limiter to make the songs louder. I use Ozone 2.0 by http:/...

Caution!

Caution should be used with normalize. If your recorded piece is near 0db, it's usually ok to Normalize. If your recorded signal is weak or low, it will be brought up to 0db, but so will the "noise floor" (basically the hiss or noise recorded with the sound. To hear what I mean, record a low volume ...

Hmmm...

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you are saying, but when I upgraded from 1.5 to 2.0 I was given a new (and longer) serial number. I believe this is what you have to enter in the website to download the 2.0.3 patch. At least, that is what I did and it worked. In fact, I first tried my 1.5 serial and i...

Research

Before I purchased Live (at verison 1.5) I did some research on the Internet, mainly the Ableton website, and also got feedback from several other places. One of the phrases used quite a bit was "Music software written by musicians". After purchasing Live, and now using 2.0.2, I love the software an...

ReWire

ReWire is very easy to use and is clearly explained in the Live manual. I tend to use Reason to export samples or loops and then drag these into Live and work exclusively in live or Cubase. But using ReWire is easy and works pretty well.

Has anyone verified this? I haven't had the chance to download the new beta and test it out.
