Now i'm blown away! i mean, i never liked live.step, but now i see some real usage of it. It might really simplify a lot of what i'm going for.
Thanks again, Machinate.

Re: Is there a maximum number of automateable parameters in m4l?
Thanks Machinate and broc.
Yes, the idea of representing the rows as 16-bit value came in mind, too. This way i even have only 8 parameters. I think i will go this way.
Thanks for your patch, broc. Is there no object, which translates binaries to decimals and vice versa?

Re: Is there a maximum number of automateable parameters in m4l?
What I typically do is automate the state of the entire sequence, not each step. Typically that'd be like a live.something connected to pattrstorage.
So how would you do that? I can collect the state of all toggles as a list. But then? I mean, the pattrstorage has only "stored only" as visibility ...

Is there a maximum number of automateable parameters in m4l?
I'm building a stepsequencer which consists of 16 steps x 8 tracks and other parameters (in total 162 parameters). All parameters are set to 'automate and store'. When i load more than two instances of this stepsequencer, some of the toggles don't react anymore.

save status of live set
Is there a way to get the save status of the live set? Is there an object that sends an event when the user saves the live set?

Get file path of current Live Set
Is there a way to get the file path of the currently opened live set? This would help to automatically save pattrstorage files at the same place as the live set.
thanks
Michael

Re: strange: controlling with mouse works, but not with midi
I am not sure but I think the event order rules of max don't work any more the same (right to left, depth first). Is this possible? Or maybe the api of live is bugy, meaning the events don't arrive in the same order as they were generated in max...?

strange: controlling with mouse works, but not with midi
I made a max device which controls the looping of an audio clip. When I control a clip by clicking with the mouse on the buttons like loop on/off or loop length or loop shift everything works fine. But when I assign a midi-controller or keys of the computer-keyboard to these buttons, they don't work ...

Re: Missing Lessons
Same problem here, same files are missing. I'm on Mac OSX 10.5.8, latest update of both live and max for live.
