Re: Your tips for chords...

Check out Duncan Lorien. SOmeon on here posted years back about how good his introduction to music weekend course was. I did it, it's been one of the best things I have done with music (plus the composition / harmonic theory follow up).
Just do that, its way easier than self learning

Re: Is there a m4l device that does this

THe part I wasn't sure about was due to the fact that when you are down in the low MS zone, the correct tuning would involve a few decimal places and my experience of controlling parameters via knobs or live's automation is that there isn't enough fine control.. Will investiage doubleUG's devices an...

Upgraded to Yosimite and live is running crazy slow

Anyone else experienced this? It's playing back stuff fine, but any actions, add new vst or change automation etc takes a few seconds to a few minutes. Have just changed the drive location of my samples and live files to check it wasnt a drive issue. Have all that on an SSD now... Thanks for any hel...

Yes.

Live needs the same automation control as bitwig. Send LFo's envelopes, envelope followers etc to anything anywhere.

The ability to generate and modulate (and modulate the modulators) control signals is needed natively.

Re: Best New Mac Pro Configuration

I just looked at them, as was thinking about getting a new machine. The price is CRAZY. What about a hackintosh. If they were a couple of grand it would be doable but for a decent number of cores it's insane money, plus (i might be wrong here) no pci graphics cards so no good for video or 3d work......

Go to bed early, get enough sleep. Because a, this is where your brain assimilates the things yo have picked up and reforms them for you, almost like magic b. you have far more mental energy when you are well rested. And loads of us aren't Seriously, few people recognise how important sleep / rest i...

What's the best way to do this?

Hello, thanks in advance for anyone that can help here: I have a vst plugin that can use OSC to communicate with live. I'd like to be able to send OSC signals - lfo,s envelopes, gates etc to . instrument and effect parameters of AU or VST instruments or fx. So, an example of this might be sending co...

Re: New NI Traktor controller

I WANT IT ALL. Komplete whatever ultimate (the recent one, not the one just dropping) has been a brilliant buy. I always thought their stuff was a bit meh - having been a komplete owner for ages. Mike Huckaby turned me back on to the NI stuff and it's really amazing. I don't doubt this will be excel...

Re: Copy Snapshot to another Reaktor Instance

save as preset, open that present into the other reaktor instance and save as a snapshot into the bank. I posted asking about this about 5 hours ago, funny timing! It's a bit of a fiddle as there's an order you need to do stuff in - check the link in my thread https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php...

Re: Paradise/Braxe/melancholic vocal pads...?

Perhaps 80s rompler, whatever it is it's hitting some gear hard (valve or solid state or both in a chain perhaps. Could also be something like an Ensoniq or wavestation or similar. Youtube or keep asking. Might be good to get on Muffs modules or Gearslutz and ask there as there are a bunch of people...

I thought of that, but figured that if you are doing that it forces you to reload the ensemble each time, no?

Re: Reaktor - presets nd snapshots

I think I have found the solution! http://www.native-instruments.com/forum/showthread.php?t=171476 If anyone else is struggling with this. The save as preset system is really awful NI could do with shaping up Reaktor to address the way it all works as it's unnecessarily complicated to get from a sav...

Reaktor - presets nd snapshots

Hi, Not strictly ableton related but this is the best music forum I know of for geed technical advice so pls excuse the OT :) I have made a bunch of presets with one of the reaktor modules, saves them using the save preset command (was watching a tutorial a while back and the guy suggested this was ...
