Re: sequencing and recording external synths...
thanks for the link shift gorden. i am aware of the track delay feature and have messed around with using it but it's fairly unsatisfying. it's a very annoying situation that kinda bogs me down. i like to jam some drums in using drumracks then put together midi sequences for some external instrument...

sequencing and recording external synths...
hi all, here's my scenario: i am using the external instrument plugin to sequence a juno and the audio is being recorded through an audient ID22 onto a separate audio track. my machine is pretty quick, an i7 imac from 2009. when the audio is recorded direct from the 'external in' i am getting approx...

using a hardware mixer to make song arrangements
hi there, can anyone recommend a decent hardware mixer (preferably 8 track) to use as a tool for creating arrangements? my intention is to send all tracks from ableton to the mixer then do a live mix using mutes, faders and hardware fx sends whilst recording the master output. i have been working so...

time stretching a chord sample
i have a chord sample that lasts 4 secs and i want to stretch it to like 16 secs without changing the pitch, so i can load it into sampler and play it as a pad harmony.
do you have any suggestions for a decent time stretching software that i can use for this purpose?

triggering audio clips with a midi keyboard?
is this possible? my live set has one audio track containing 15 clips. i wanna jam with these clips and record the results but i can't seem to midi map the keys on my crappy alesis q25 controller to the play buttons on each clip. any ideas? surely i don't have to buy an apc40 for this kind of operat...

Re: Free Tutorial on getting a classic House 909 kick drum
nice tutorial. thanks!
i like using 707 kick samples in my house tracks - would you use similar settings / approach to eq and compression with those?
would be cool to see your methods for claps and snares too.
cheers!

Re: is there a way of fixing the start marker to the loop brace?
yeah, i just have 2 knobs mapped to loop and position, as per screenshot. do i need a button mapped too in order to revert to full loop length at position 1?

Re: is there a way of fixing the start marker to the loop brace?
strange... i set the loop start, set clip start and set loop start to the same knob on my controller and it's behaving in a really unpredictable way. throwing the loop brace to position -61 and loop length to -62 with the slightest touch for example. do i somehow need to set minimum and maximum valu...

is there a way of fixing the start marker to the loop brace?
i'm currently jamming with some loops messing with position and length via my midi controller and every time i revert back to the original start position and loop length it has placed the start marker in a random position within the loop causing it to be out of sync with my other clips. is there any...
