Re: Dragging Notes Into Grid Without Offset

From the Ableton Manual: 10.4.3 Grid Snapping Most functions in the MIDI Editor are subject to grid snapping (see 6.9). But when adjusting events with the mouse, the grid is “magnetic”; event positions can be moved freely up to the previous or next grid line and then will snap if you continue to dra...

Dragging Notes Into Grid Without Offset

I am trying to drag a note in the grid area of a midi clip. Unfortunately it is hard for me to have the note snap to the grid point because it snaps to secret offset points. The offset points are non-grid areas that Ableton thinks might be useful. My grid is set to Narrow. Sometimes it can be hard t...

Re: midi channel routings!

+1 I really want to create a max for live device that sends MIDI out multiple midi channels. Right now I can only send MIDI out one channel at a time. BUMMER!

Re: New Macbook Pro Retina Display Support

Ableton does look worse on the Retina Display. I compared side by side with my pre-unibody intel macbook pro (15 inch) able Ableton looks significantly more fuzzy on the retina screen for all text and graphics like knobs. The grid lines look fine. Personally, I wish didn't get the retina display. Th...

Dummy Clips - How to Automate Device on?

First the quick question before I get detailed - Is there a way to automate "effect rack: on/off" from a dummy clip? I perform live music with vocal effects but I need a different effect rack for each song. Furthermore I want my effects to change when I start the next song in session view,...

Good point! I suppose much of the bad music can be attributed to the cycle alcohol culture.

Re: Adding entire new songs to an already huge set

Are you working in arrangement view? If so, click in your session where you would like to add space, then insert silence. Why do you need so many tracks in a live set? Any track that you don't tweak during the performance can be bounced down to track groups. Such as Percussion/Bass/Synth/Vocals/Kick...

Re: Help. How do I make this effect?

This topic is about the vocal effect that psychohagis heard.
THAT is what I am referring to.
I will revise my statement.

Don't do the Cher/Kanye West style autotune effect!
It's not worth it!

Re: Help. How do I make this effect?

I agree that this is not a vocoder but autotune.

Sooooo tired of autotune.... You don't want to sound like Cher do you?

Re: Why Do DJs DJ? The "Cool Factor"

I agree with many of your points regarding DJ's wanting more attention. On the other hand the same can be said of musicians. Here in the states, bands are a dime a dozen and every one wants to "make it big". Also there are plenty of DJ's who listen to music at home and bliss out to the mus...

Re: keeping levels down in ableton for producing

heres my setup at master channel: 1 > Reverb: yea, why not? dry/wet at 6%-8% 2 > EQ: to have a nice "loudness" feel, boost mid freq slightly, 3 > Compressor: to warm it up, really little compression. I highly recommend not adding a reverb to your whole mix. Instead add an aux send and onl...

Re: Max 5.1.1 is online

I installed today the latest full release of Live and Max 5.1.1 for max for live but my presets showed up as broken. 1. So I uninstalled the MaxForLiveContent Live pack from the library tab in Ableton live preferences (viewable within the application). 2. I then deleted the Max5 folder from my appli...

Dennis, my presets are missing, what should I do?
I've looked around on the forum but I'm still confused.
