Ableton Live 7 GUI freeze problem

hi, i found this problem in another thread from 2006 (!): http://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=102662 but it looks like it was never resolved? i am using Live 7 with Reaktor 5 as a VST on a new MacBook Pro, and the GUI freezes. i can continue to play clips and hear audio, but there is no visual ...

Re: How to treat low bass for laptop speakers?

i always test my tracks on laptop speakers, because i know A LOT of people are too lazy to learn how to walk over and plug the laptop into their stereo. even the nice mac laptop speakers ignore all deep bass. making bass apparent on a wide range of systems is a pretty tough problem. you're on the ri...

Re: Clip set to repeat, but won't

is "loop" turned on? i think you might be confusing the launch mode "repeat" (which it sounds like just repeatedly triggers the clip while the button is held) and "loop" which causes the clip to loop until it's stopped.

Program Change -> Back to Arrangement?

Hi, Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but I seem to be having trouble with MIDI Program Changes. Basically, I work in Session view, adding Program Changes to clips in order to switch patches on VST instruments. This works fine, until I record it to the Arrangement view. When I try to play back t...

Re: Enable Trackpoint scrolling for Ableton on Thinkpads

well, it works for Reaktor, but not for OpenOffice apps. not a huge deal, i spend most of my time in Live and Reaktor anyway!

wow, so many little fixes for the annoying niggles that you think you just have to live with. this one and the keyboard input to VSTs have made my workflow much nicer.

Re: Looping audio without release cutoff. Possible?

forgive me if these tips are obvious: - follow actions. if you use 2 clips to do it, you can have the first clip automatically transition to the second clip as it ends. - warping. you can override how live interprets the file by placing and moving your own warp markers. very quick (compared to going...

Re: Enable Trackpoint scrolling for Ableton on Thinkpads

hmm,
i don't have that file unfortunately. i installed the trackpoint driver and i have a trackpoint tab in my mouse settings, but maybe i didn't install a separate app for it or something. darn.

Re: synthesize the default nepheton bd woth operator

to introduce a click, i like to shift the phase of the OP , and layer it over the top of the sine sweep on OP [A]. Like you said above have the phase out will introduce a click, that can be triggered. oh yeah! great economical trick for making a kick harder. this can be done with a sample too, if y...

Re: wave-editor with vst support for batchprocessing

in order to do this, you will need to end up with a larger sample than your original. i'm not sure how you would tell an editor to automatically do this. maybe you could batch copy and paste the files into larger ones, so that there is enough silence at the end for the reverb to die away? EDIT: seis...

Re: synthesize the default nepheton bd woth operator

i'm unfamiliar with operator and nepheton, but if it's an 808 clone, here's a general how-to: - use a sine wave oscillator that starts at zero phase (meaning the wave is synced to the trigger, otherwise you will get random clicks as the wave starts in different places each time). set the oscillator ...

Re: Wet Autotune

that answer applies only if you are using it on a return. if you just drop Autotune onto a single channel you should be able to get 100% wet.
